Hi all. I have had odd symptoms for awhile and dr thinks I have lyme.

One thing is my spine feels like its bruised, I feel it most in the am and when I lean down. Its the right side of my spine and mid back right above where my bra strap hits. If I press on it I feel it.

I had an MRI of my spinebut it just showed slight DDD but I am not sure that is the area it is in.

Any ideas? This is making me nervous that its something serious.

There is not a lot to go on but your MRI shows slight DDD, your age is probably important here if you are advanced in years its fairly normal to have some degree of DDD if you are young it could be an indication that there is some underlying condition causing the DDD, also DDD tenRAB to progress over the years.

Do you have a copy of the MRI report, or can you obtain a copy then you could find out if your pain is at the same level as your DDD.

If you have had an MRI you have probably tried most things from a conventional perspective to get rid of your symptoms. One thing you may not have been told about is that postural problems or abnormal curvature of the spine can cause problems like yours if you have never been evaluated for these problems it might be worth your while to do so.

Good Luck

I don't mean to barge in on your thread, but there are spots on my spine that hurt when I touch them too. When I told my surgeon about that spot he said it probably is muscular. I am 35, have DDD, two discetomies and possible permanent nerve damage.

Olddog brought up a VERY interesting idea. I have always had poor posture. I am somewhat tall (5'8") and have struggled my whole life to stand straight. I wonder if this has contributed to my back issues? Now I wonder if we really work on correcting our posture, if it could help alleviate sciatica pain??

Sorry I could not be more of a help.

Thanks so much. I am 33 and this started shortly after all my other health issues-shooting body pains, muscle twitching all over, extreme joint cracking. It is looking like lyme but my blood tests for this was only one band vs two. They put me on antibotics anyway to see what happens.

If I hunch over, especially in the morning when its worst I feel it, it literally feels like a bruise and a tiny bit burning.

I keep fearing its something really serious but would think the MRI would have shown this?

The area that feels bruised is mabye an inch of space-same area daily
