Spill Your Guts II: What You Think About MB Members' Taste In Music

Who said I like the music just because it's obscure. I said enjoy finding music. If I heard it and hated it there's no reason to keep it anyway. What's the hostility for anyway?

@trace
I'm not depriving myself. I download some once in a while. However as my connection is pretty shitty it takes me 2 hours do download an album; in the mean time, I enjoy digging in for music.

I love music. And I love re-searches. From music to films and books. I'm not getting why people are so hating the searching process.

Edit: Sorry for the off topic talk.

Well let's see... I'll just do whoever comes to my head and whose musical taste I know:

Bulldog - Likes a lot of good stuff; reading through his 100 best albums I discovered he shares a taste in music similar to mine. Likes the Happy Mondays, which I haven't seen to many people on here talk about, so that's a plus. He also got me into The Wedding Present.

BooBoo - Well, I know he's a huge prog fan. Seeing as how I'm not, I don't know too much about his music choices. But I'm pretty sure he likes some cool stuff perhaps?

Comus - In the vast minority of people here that don't like Radiohead, and one of very few merabers besides me that greatly dislikes them. Major points for that. Another huge prog fan; don't know too much about that again. Can't think what else he likes.

Jackhammer - By far the most diverse meraber of this forum. He's also very knowledgeable about all the music he has, it would seem, which is no easy feat. Introduced me to Mice Parade, and a few other things, so I would say his taste is good.

dac - He's a big post rock fan; gave me a really cool album by Valley of the Giants the other day so that's good. Likes Explosions in the Sky too. Besides that, I don't know too much about him.

Animation is something that interests me greatly, because it can create some truly impressive things and it has such a large impact on what it's a part of. It's pretty much at the forefront of movies and games which utilize it.

Good luck with it all. Personally I'm more interested in mapping myself, though I've yet to really sit down and bang one out.

Picky? So picky that you'd hardly venture out of your comfort zone of punk. And obviously I don't take your opinion seriously. It's just stupid when people complain and cry about how whiny Conor's voice. Which is ironic in a sense.

Well to be honest, i would have said that a very, very, small percentage of 14 year old kiRAB now would know who Kraftwerk were. Maybe a few more of them would have heard their name before but they wouldn't know shit about them. Why would they?

amazing, such a good band. my stepdad saw them in 1993 with faith no more supporting guns n roses. i hate guns n roses but i'd say that would've been an incredible show for the two support banRAB.

what other banRAB are you into?

I did. The things that appeal to me deepest are also the polar opposites.

Wait's "Hoist that Rag" or "Don't go into that barn" for example, are ragged-edged, percussive, hammered songs that froth at the mouth and, if they were an illustration, would be drawn frenzied, and harried, and would look as if they were always going too far in one direction of the other.

Theres a great deal of control loss in the music I love. I get the impression soul, and its diciples are masters at their craft. My favorite songs sound like they were written by King Lear in the storm.

I'm willing to try anything you'll send me, but if I don't prefer it, I hope you understand why. As Andrew Jackson was quote "I was a man born for a storm."

boardofcanada, james and thecunningstunt have sweet taste in music i reckon. not really noticed other peoples. well, i've seen people with awesome taste but can't remeraber who it was.

I'll get around to it, I've been slacking haven't I? The list is a little out of date by now, but I'll still review the final six.

Send me a PM or I'll forget and put it off. You'll like the next entry.

Its been a while... all I remeraber is that:

Boo Boo has great taste and knowledge in prog and rock in general.

And that Jackhammer is awesome because he likes Metal and Ska/Reggae.

Seltzer is a great metal head.
