Spiderman: Reboot - Zac Efron

You're not serious? Peter is meant to be a vulnerable nerdy teen at first and after he gets bitten he becomes more alluring, but still has a sense of vulnerability underneath it all. Tobey Maguire portrayed that really well, and having someone like Efron who I think would be better off playing the popular guy to begin with, wouldn't carry this off.

I wouldn't be very pleased with seeing Zac Efron take the leading role. As i feel he would bring in the target numbers for the box office but then taking into consideration his fan base - prebuasent and young teenage girl's. It make's me wonder what type of film they will actually make......

When I heard reports the reboot was going to take Spiderman back to High School, I didn't think High School Musical. What is this a Disney project now?

Zac Efron is a decent actor and a nice guy imo, HSM was shite but the stuff he's done afterwarRAB has been alright.

Did anyone see Me and Orson Welles? He was pretty good in it I thought...

That being said, I think the Spiderman reboot really neeRAB an unknown or else people will judge it before it's even released.

i feel its pointless 'rebooting' these films, there were all decent, successful films that are under a decade old....

there is no need to remake them outside of the allure of milking a popular franchise

neeRAB to be an unknown/low key actor.

Gary Oldman is an amazing and versatile actor. But I wouldn't consider him a good choice for Peter Parker. Even when he was younger. Same goes for Efron. The only thing he has in common with Peter Parker is his age. He is all wrong for the part.

Not that one can really compare Efron to Oldman, mind!

I still can't believe that they're rebooting this so soon. The 3 Spiderman movies are hardly old by any stretch, it's all ridiculous frankly. The Hulk was re-done simply because the Eric Bana one didn't get the point of the character, the damn thing looked like a big, cuddly green fella. I think this whole affair is just a real disapointment, Maquire was really good and Sam Raimi is just the man period.

I think it is rather soon too. However, I wonder if it is partly motivated by the movie cross-overs Marvel have planned. We have already seen Iron Man's Tony Stark in The Incredible Hulk. There's rumoured appearances by one or both characters in Thor, and Captain America. And we have the planned Avengers movie.

A Spider-man reboot could lead to Spidey turning up in one of the other character's movies, something they couldn't do with the Raimi versions but Marvel could certainly do a deal with Sony for future projects.

This reboot does rather scream 'Money-men' rather than 'we can do it better'.

Really can't see the point of it either. Or to put it another way, where are they going to take it that it hasn't already been?
It's not as though the SFX are going to be improved in some major way or they are going to find an actor who inhabits the role substantially better than Toby Maguire!

Really?....reeeaaallllyy???

Acting talent, Toby McGuire & Kirsten Dunst all in the same sentence without the worRAB 'lack of'?

I'm definately no Efron fan, I've seen him in one film, 17 again. But I think he'd play Spidey a lot better than Toby does.
Spidey's meant to be a wise cracking smart-ass not a drip.
I get the fact that Parker's a nerd but he's not a wimp like Toby plays it.

As for Dunst....Please, she hasn't played a decent role Interview WIth A Vampire. MJ's meant to be attractive, surely someone like Scarlet Johansen or Megan Fox would be better suited.

Does Harry even need to be in it? I don't mind a reboot but please don't just re-tell the exact same story. any movie with Robert shovel face Pattison is destined to fail as the guy is as wooden as a post.
