Spiderman 3 (spoiler)

Totally. When blur one disappears and they all cheer, thinking it's all over. Then zooms sudenly into Venomblur's gaping maw and they go mental. Awesome. Would be even better if you coudl make out what the hell was going on on the screen. :o

This is getting very geeky, but interesting, to me anyway :p

You are right, the first time we see the suit was amazing spiderman 252 but the actual origin of the suit and when spiderman himself gets it (timeline wise) is Secret Wars 8 which came out around 6 months later.

Venoms first full appearance" is issue 300, he only makes cameos in the previous 2 issues and an issue of Web of Spiderman.

Surely a logical villain would be the Lizard, given that Doc Connors has made an appearance in the franchise already?

I just hope it's not a stupid villain like the Vulture...

Any other guesses?

Not long now untill we get to see Spiderman 3 and I will be there on the opening day to see it!
From what I have seen and read so far in trailers, magazines etc it seems like the fight at the end of Spiderman 3 will be between Spiderman and Venom and I cant wait to see that fight!

These are some rumoured parts of the story for Spiderman 3:

"Before getting on Peter, the symbiote (the black oil substance) has a rather 50's sci-fi origin (ala The Blob)

- In a church bell tower, Eddie Brock (Topher Grace) follows this black Spidey character and sees Peter ripping himself free of the suit - some of which falls onto Brock, causing him to "become" Venom.

- For most of the film, Spider-Man is in pursuit of The Sandman. Harry as the Goblin (sans mask) fights Peter early on and returns at the end to aid him in the final confrontation with Sandman and Venom at a construction site.

- "Dark Spidey, as it were - Peter before he has overcome Venom - is the one who courts Gwen Stacey. Problems in the relationship with MJ, as well as professional issues compound to bring him down. Even downer than last time. That's how Raimi, Sargent and co are using Venom - as a dramatic device to show Peter not just giving up on his great responsibility, but getting drunk on his great power."

- There are scenes inside Curt Connor's lab, where he studies the symbiote, and these scenes are also used to set up the research that will, in the character's story - though not in this movie - turn him into The Lizard.

- The Black Cat does not make any significant appearance in the film, despite existing, on paper, in various earlier conceptions.

- And the fourth villain? "Makes only a fleeting appearance - Bruce Campbell's character this time around is Quentin Beck, known to fans of the comic as Mysterio"."

In an interview with Dark Horizons Sam Raimi talked about a possible Spiderman 4:

"Question: I want to apologize for asking the Spiderman 4 question, but what would it take to bring you back for a 4th film? You've said great story, obviously. But it feels like this 3rd film really wraps it up, a nice neat trilogy, so what would it take to bring you back?

Raimi: Well, we really did try and wrap up a lot of the story elements that we had in the first and second picture, but I look at it more like the end of a chapter, because if you've read the Spiderman comic books, you know there's so many more villains and so many more stories that can be told, that have already been told, that are very exciting and vivid, but it's true. I, for me to come back, I'd have to, when I'm done with all of this, have a breather and then look at the character and say where does he next have to grow to? Where can he now develop in a meaningful way? And if I could recognize, honestly, a real deficit that he, and we could fashion a story then where the characters, where this young man could learn his next life lesson in a meaningful way, and that we could make good story out of it, then I would die to direct the picture."

"Question: Is there a release date for Spiderman 4?

Raimi: They haven't told me.

Question: If you were to sign on to do another Spiderman 4 film, or even possible few films, with the pressure you were under to deliver 3 by a certain date, would you be more firm with the next one? I want this to be--everything more set up in advance?

Raimi: No, because the fans, I mean, that's really, that's a Sony decision. I'd have to ask myself can I get it together, the body picture I need in--

Question: If they he [Tobey] said no to a fourth film, would you be more reticent to do Spiderman 4?

Raimi: For me, yeah, because I've made all these three with him, he's like my partner, and part of it for me would be a real specific experience of continuing the depth of that character that he portrayed. It would be another story working with someone else on the character.

Question: What about Kirsten?

Raimi: I love Kirsten, she's great, but what about her?

Question: Same thing. If she said no?

Raimi: It would be very difficult without her also."

I'm not sure that I'll see this in the cinema, to be honest I'm more of a Batman fan and these Spider-Man films tend to drag... I'll catch it on DVD though!
