can anyone help me out here my "5" year old want's to see spider-man 3 but its an age rating of 12A,
so if im not misstaken he carnt go to see it with an adult right?
just asking as his mother insists he can go to the cinema as long as he's with an adult (meaning me)!!!

the worst thing is she promist him i take him to see it this weekend
i know im going to get in trouble now.

12(A) means that he can see it with an adult.

It is 12 (Adult) If it was just a 12 (which I don't know if they have anymore) he wouldn't but 12(A) means you can definitley take him. :D

Not much different from a PG really - only difference being that you can see a PG on your own from age 8 ;)

Personnaly I dont think that the film is suitable for a 5 year old to watch. If it was then a PG rating would have been given. But its your choice how you bring up the children and what they watch but when he tries to jump off a building like spiderman, dont say you havent been warned!!!

And that is why there is so much grime and stabbings by youths today. (sorry for off topic rant)

The 5 year old might have nightmares with this film, thats my main concern.

Bear in mind, 12A means the BBFC does not deem this movie to be suitable for under 12s at all. You can take an under 12, but it goes against their advice. I'd certainly think very carefully about taking a 5 year old to a movie the BBFC doesn't consider suitable for an 11 year old.

is there any reason that this film is being release on IMAX in the rest of the world but not the UK at the same time of release I mean the 300 been on for a least a month.

I watched it on Saturday.
My god it neeRAB at least 30 minutes of guff ripped our of it. The film starts off with Mary Jane singing on the stage (Ok 'Indiana 2' does it but at least it is a catchy tune). Then we have that whole sorry scene with MJ and Harry making an omelete while doing the twist. For the love of god what was the point of that? A big bonus would be if Mary Jane got killed off as all she does is cry and moan. Spider-man is a lot tougher in the comic than Sam Raimi made him out to be. Venom was a total anti climax. Sand Man was a much better baddy. We also see Harry's butler appear from nowhere and tell Harry how his father killed himself by accident. I can see the point of that but they could have easily just have Harry keep with the memory loss thing and then help Spidey instead of bringing the Butler out of nowhere and making the audience think 'who the hell is he?'. A pretty film but seriously flawed and too long due to the needless rubbish, over complication of plot and too many characters.

Just a word of warning that Spiderman 3 really isn't suitable for kiRAB any younger than 7 and even around that age, please take into consideration their sensitivity.

I've just been to see this today with my 7 year old son. Although I really enjoyed it, it scared the crap out of him and he's now begging me not to buy him the DVD when it comes out and is worried about having nightmares tonight. He usually doesn't scare easily - he's a massive fan of Star Wars for instance and I'd have thought Spiderman 3 would have been fine as he's seen the first two and enjoyed them. I can totally understand why it's frightened him, I was concerned about him as we were watching it knowing full well which scenes were far too disturbing for someone his age. If I'd have seen it myself at that age it would have given me nightmare fodder for years.

...but according to the trailers Shrek the Third and Pirates 3 look damn fantastic. ;)
