This movie wasn't very good, but I was still extremley entertained.

Many of the plotlines were underdeveloped, and overall there were just too many of them. Peter's "black suit" storyline wound up being silly. They could have done a lot more with it than make him dance in the streets and act like an obnoxious idiot. I thought he was an obnoxious idiot before he was possessed, so it didn't really change very much in my eyes. I really did not like Peter in this movie at all, and I think they messed that up. Peter is supposed to be a lovable character, but in my case, I was rooting for Harry to kill him. I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to root for the hero's girlfriend to be with his 'evil' best friend, but oh well. I did anyway. I think James and Kirsten have A LOT more chemistry than T/K, and I actually found the MJ/Peter scenes pretty dreadful to watch.

Harry/James saved the movie for me. Every scene he was in was an enjoyable one, no matter what was happening. The final action scene where him and Spidey team up was a lot of fun to watch. Oh, and Topher Grace was awesome for the few minutes of screentime he actually had. I don't read the comics, so I don't know how prevalent a character Venom is, but personally I would have liked to see more of him.

Figured better to just keep this thread going , Then once the full cast and details of Spiderman 4 are released ,then start a new thread .

I was impressed he rocked my world!
i must say this is the least fave outta the series -no storyline!
but so EFFING Hilarious!!

I've never seen 1 or 2, but I saw Spidey 3 on Saturday. My primary reason for going to see it was for Topher Grace & I thought he did a great job. I thought they could have developed his story as well as they did for the other villain played by Church, who is another actor I like from the movie Sideways. I'm not a huge Tobey(as Spidey) fan, but I thought he was funny in this one. Overall I thought it was good.

While I liked the third, I hope the 4th is more like the first 2 as well.

Hee, good luck with the tickets! It would be awesome to go to the musical! :D

Bringing this over from the other thread:

I agree. I think most fans of the comics are dissappointed in this. Granted I could be overgeneralizing, but that's what I've seen.

The Harry/Peter storyline should've been handled so differently. It had way more emotion to it than what we saw. This movie just did all the villains half-ast, especially Venom. You couldn't even feel or understand why he hated Peter. He just did.

Totally! Peter hated the guy for killing his uncle. Personally, I hated how they humanized him in the end and Peter forgave him. And yes they completely changed the writing of the first movie for this weird plot.

I had so many expectations for Venom, and while he did look great, he wasn't in it long enough. He should've been the main storyline of this movie.

I can't add more to this except ITA.

I hope this is the last one, but apparently the studio wants a 4, 5 and 6. Or so I read.

I bought the soundtrack today ... I prefered the SM2 soundtrack

s.a.s.h.a. the link doesn't work :(

The rewriting got to me also. You've pretty much written what everyone's thinking. I agree completely with this review. The transformation that happens from Peter to Spidey when he realizes that he indirectly killed his uncle is more powerful than some weak hate he has for a guy that he just found out killed his uncle years ago but really cries about it and is sorry. The remorseless guy that he killed in his first outing as the true spiderman was much more powerful.

I like such movies coz there are lots of special effects in it also I liked the sound tracks of the earlier movie spiderman 2 and i wonder what soundtrack this one would be having. I'm sure It'll be a good one, the other two movie's had gr8 tracks and so i am having a lots of expectations with this one too

I'd be willing to give #4 a shot if it's more in line with the first two. I was not a fan of the third. Reminded me too much of X-Men: The Last Stand. Mehhhh.

And apparently 2010 is the slated debut year of the Spider-Man musical on Broadway. The lady that directed The Lion King on Broadway is doing this musical. And U2's Bono is doing the music.

Hmm. Maybe tickets could be my graduation gift. :D
