Spider-Man 2

Spiderman 2 was a good-okayish film, way better than the first one but I agree with rua is god that it was too overhyped.

Apart from the Daily Bugle Chief i think the acting was pretty average. At one point I felt sleepy and noticed how wonky Kirsten Dunst's teeth are (sorry-bit off topic).

I think they made Kiirsten look a bit more of a red head in this film, she looked a lot better in the 1st film.
seemed to have more blemished face, rosey cheeks and like you said the wonky teeth

I haven't seen the 1st one yet, but gonna borrow it off my mum when I next see her. I used to watch the TV series when i was younger, and the movies look as if it carries on the Spidy trait. Look forward to seeing them.

"Erm it was alright..."

I'd give it 7/10 but it woulda been 8 if the ending wasn't so shit and rushed. I actually towarRAB the end of the film hoped they'd leave lots of plot open for a third...

It broke box office recorRAB, big deal - so did Titanic.

I just lost interest during the film, an action film should contain "action" and some kind of tension throughout. It lacked any kind of dramatic tension at all. It was more of a failed love story... mainly seeing as both of them (Toby and Kirsten) aren't the best looking of people.

It was just frustrating more than entertaining seeing their love charade.
To be honest, the main villain was a waste of space, just put in there... what was the point of him? We didn't learn anything about him, we just saw he had 8 arms and would be useful in a factory or something.

It was alright, but the cartoons entertained me more (that's saying something) and I just feel like I've been robbed of something seeing as everyone else has made this out to be the best film ever?

Never saw the first film until about a week before I went with family to Spiderman 2. My thoughts on Spiderman 2:

My 14 year old son thought it was ok. My 12 year daughter loved it.

It's actually a "girly / chick / date" film IMHO. The CGI is ok (but hardly ground breaking) and the first 45 minutes is so full of cliches that I'd have turned off if I was watching on TV. Seems to be set up to sell to the teen hormones brigade.

Continuity (I know its fantasy but you can at least expect his flat to look the same!) is rubbish too. And the plot is incomprehensible. At one point the baddie is told to "find Peter Parker - he knows where Spiderman is" - which he does by trying to kill him! WTF? How is that going to help him find Spiderman? :D

I won't be going to Spiderman 3 - bring on X Men 3- pleeease! :)

I'm going to go against the grain and say 1 was better than 2 if only for Dafoe's amazing baddie character. 2 was good as well although as someone up the thread says, quite a girly chick flick type movie with lots of angsty lovelorn looks and unrequieted love metaphors.
Both were very enjoyable though, they had that classic Back 2 The Future, root for the Geek quality and lots of subtly humourous bits that help make it as watchable for adults as kiRAB.
The animation in 2 was more apparent as well which I wasn't as keen on - 1 seemed more seamless and as a result drew you into the characters more.

I LOVE this movie. While I was watching I spotted numerous flaws but they'rea ll forgotten now. The balance between action/actual plot is excellent, as many superhero films there is no character development so you dont give a crap what happens to them. Its better than SM1, but to no way to impune that film as I love it equally. The obvious flaw was Willem Dafoe was unable to act as well as he could have done with that mask, and compared the the fabulous Doc Oc, has few powers.

Overall, 10/10. I like very few comic book movies; my top four are: SM2,XMen2,SM1,Xmen1

Just been to see this - I know it's been out for ages, but hey, i've been busy - and it was the biggest load of drivel i've ever seen. Contrived plot, unoriginal baddies, action sequences that would look bad on a second rate American TV show. Even the normally reliable Kirsten Dunst was a let down.

Why did this film get all the publicity and the hype that it did?

I'm not rushing to see Spiderman 2 as I thought Spiderman 1 was an absolute load of tosh, and judging from what I've read here I think I'll wait until its on tv!

It doesnt help that I cant stand Tobey Maguire, I just want to slap him round the head and tell him talk properly!!!! ;)

I damn LOVE this movie, I can't believe I've only seen it once, just before i went on hol (it triggered me to buy a SM2 ball for the pool, and collect chupa chups for free SM2 stickers, and now I have a cool SM2 tshirt!)

Its a vast improvement on the first in that you can see the villains face... and IMO, Doc Ock is rather fit. *hides red face* (Molina is too cute to be bad)

There was a perfect blend on excellent action, juxtaposing heartfelt romance and character study. It is a beautiful film, really nothing there for children though. :)

15/10

What the heck to you call Harry stumbling across his father's old lair?? Green Goblin 2? HellO? (gosh I hope not)

My only wonder is what storylines they can come up with....

I thought it was great...one of the best films of the year...and i cant wait for number 3 which looks like it will have venom in it...(the guy who works for nasa...jamesons son...brings back an alien life form on his shuttle in the comics)...and venom is by far the best villain of them all...
