Sperm and egg cells die all the time, so what's the big deal about an undeveloped fetus?

Abortion, stem cells etc...
As far as we know, all beneficial to our very existence.

Stem cells could potentially cure otherwise healthy people who are plagued with cancer, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injuries, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, multiple sclerosis, and muscle damage, amongst a number of other impairments and conditions.

Abortion is for people who can't take care of another living being, they could be too young, don't have the money, or just can't provide what the child needs. Wouldn't it be better for everyone, if you're in a position where you can't give the child a suitable life, that you get an abortion?

So what does this matter TO you?

Well it's because a lot people (mostly conservative and some liberals depending on their religion like Catholics are against abortion etc.) believe in pro-life. They believe when that egg is fertilized it is a life, and killing that fetus is killing a baby, it's morally wrong, it's a sin etc. Some others don't believe in pro-life they believe in pro-choice, that a woman has the right to decide for themselves. So many conservatives and socially conservative people believe stem cell and abortion is morally wrong and it's killing a life.

Me personally i believe in pro-choice (i do believe that the fetus is a life when in the womb or when a embryo) but I think a woman should have the right to decide for themselves what they want to do. Maybe she was raped and doesn't want the baby so I think it could be okay to have an abortion.

But stem cell research by killing a fetus for me i don't know, it feels wrong. I think it's life no matter what it's in the process of growing even if not fully developed yet. But I see the benefits from it so I think it could be okay when the fetus is very early in development.

If a farmer seeds an acre of ground with corn and the corn sprouts and grows and you come through the field and uproot all the corn stalks

versus if you come through a couple days after she planted the seeds and spray the ground with an herbicide that kills the germinating seeds before they can sprout above ground

is there any difference in what you have done in terms of having the crop come to fruition?

Life begins at conception. So they are not life until the two are fused together. But there is a certain amount of consistency within th church, they are against abortion and stem cell research because it requires the death of a human being. They also frown upon masturbation, which is where sperm is lost. they preach that sex should only be had within marriage and that no contraceptives should be used which means that no sperm will be lost. As for the egg, it's god's will that we lose our eggs. There's nothing to be done on that front.

I'm personally pro stemcell research because when the fetus is extracted it can't even be called a fetus it's so early. It's basically just a larger cluster of cell, much like mold. It's like taking mold from inside someone and letting it grow in a laboratory. The church etc argues against it because they think that we're playing god, but I've never once hear anything negative about IVF, which is playing god. You are giving someone who can't have a child (god's will) a child. in fact, often you are giving thm twins. That's playing god.

As far as the abortion goes I'm pro-choice, within limits. I don't think it's okay to have an abortion more than a week into the second trimester (if even that) because the fetus is so developed and can already feel pain etc and the methods with which they abort the child seem to be fairly very horrendus after that point. It gives a person 3 theoretical months to abort the child, but usually one finds out after a month or two meaning that sometimes it will only be 4 weeks to decide, but even that should be a sufficient about of time. I think the goverment should be spending more money on orphanages. Or that more people should adopt instead of IVF. I don't understand this craze to have a child which is "yours". No child will ever be yours.

If you're in a position where you can't give the child a suitable life, then you shouldn't have had sex in the first place. Even if the kid can't have a perfect life, life is still better than death for it. You could give it to an adoption center. I'm not totally against abortion, but you don't have the greatest statements to support your opinion.
