Spellcheck for emails and more on E61?

You have a dictionary icon that is pre-installed? Spell check would be sweet as you say on my E61. It's easy to have many typos when your banging out a bunch of emails. Most of my co-workers and friends can tell when i'm using my E61 as I never use caps (too lazy) and always have a ton of typos which I don't typically have. Spell check would at least clear that up. I'm thinking about adding an apology signature on my emails when i'm sending them with my E61 but it just seems odd to have to do that.

One of my co-workers has an apology sig from his blackberry. This is the one thing I have found weird about every "other" smartphone since I left the sidekick (except for Windows Mobile). Because of the OS for the sidekick, everything is spell checked and first letters are capitalized. I loved that and then I went to other phones and the world saw how horrible I really am with grammar.

If Microsoft and Danger can implement it system wide, I wonder why Symbian hasn't?

I think i am more inclined to make incorrect key strokes than grammatical errors but its just as annoying.

T9 is pretty much a spell check, for the most part, which performs the same features you mentioned, including capitalizing the first word in a sentence, encouraging apostrophies, what have you.

yeah .. but i have to think of how to spell the word correctly with t9 as it wont keep typing out if i spell it wrong. Sidekick would auto correct words (like Microsoft Word) and Windows mobile offered the complete word if you were in the neighborhood.

So I decided to go back to the dictionary. it is under tools and is a red book icon. When I click on it, it reads "Dictionary word information missing. Instal word database." What do you guys think or where can I get the word database? Isn't there some kind of add on or additional program for symbian?

spellcheck would ale great.. There are a couple good spell check apps for blackberry already. You should suggest it to the s60.com wishlist.. Maybe someone will code it for you!

Most likely your E61 has asian firmware correct? I had that dictionary icon on my N90 (before I flashed it), and it was for the chinese/english dictionary.
