Speedymoto Rearset install/questions

Well I've just been informed that the Thai Post Office finally has my rearsets after 1 month of waiting and I'll collect them on Monday.

Seems 'easty' (with some very useful tips) above is fairly satisfied with them. Anyone else?
After all the hassle I've been through getting these, the last thing I want to do is return them.

I'll be trawling through both 'Speedymoto Rearsets" threads looking for installation tips. Then again, my 12k service is due soon so I may dump them into the dealers lap and let them install.

My set-up I wanted to go high and back mate, So I set the
peg at about 11 o'clock. It's good to tighten up the peg bracket a little when tweaking up the tie rods.

As you can see on the clutch side, the bracket sits at 5:30 on the spline and the vertical of the lever is parallel. I connected this up with the "c" size rod and you can attach it at the lever side before locating it with the peg.

The brake side is a little more problematic. As said before the bolt that fits through the brake adapter(which is fitted with a bushing) is meant to clamp up leaving the adapter to rotate freely, but the brake adapter is a little wide. if you can find a little(non-crushable) washer that is similar size to the shaft, this allows the adapter bracket to rotate.

I used the extension rod "b" for the brake side and "a" went unused. also the spacers went unused.

The tie rod attached on the inside of the lever on the gear side and outside on the brake side. I was thinking to add the spacer on the brake adapter, which may give the angle to get rod attached on the inside of the lever. Don't forget to thread lock everything and don't go OT on the tightening.

I decided to give the rearsets (along with the new DP cooling hoses) to the dealer to install. They're doing the 12k service now so it seemed convenient. Hopefully all will be okay but I'm feeling a little nervous after what I've read here.
If all goes well I'll post some pics as the rearsets themselves look amazing.

Do the rods rub on the belly pan. Mine did and the foot levers seem flimsy and flex quite easily. I tried them out for a few days and as of now I had to revert back to the stockers and sent those POS rear sets back. They do look great but speedymoto needs to go back to the drawling board. That whole spring set up really could of been better, improved clearance for the advertised adjustibilty, stronger levers, and that ugly coating on the pegs and guards. For the price these rear sets should be better and redesigned. Speedymoto has always had great products but these rear sets are a flop.

Okay. Just picked the bike up from the dealers and done a 50klm round-trip.

First off, the quality. They look great with none of the paint/anodizing problems previously written about.

Second, as a few posters previously stated, the rods touch the lower fairing. as you can see it the images (sorry, iPhone camera) my pegs are set at the uppermost point and still they touch (albeit barely) the fairing.

What about touching the fairing on the highest adjustment?
Damn, if it wasn't for this, they'd be perfect.

There's now way to lower the pegs to give more comfort, which was one of the reasons for buying these.

Did Speedymoto actually bother to get their little ruler out and measure the fairings before designing these rearsets. Obviously not! I'm 6'1" and do feel a little more cramped but hopefully I'll get used to it.
I won't be returning them as I've paid about 70$US import duty on them.

Finding neutral is a little tricky as it only needs a very light tap. I also find you have to pull the clutch farther in when changing gears.

Also got the DP cooling hoses installed.

Haven't noticed any decrease in running temperature but I was in traffic a lot of the time.

Again, apologies for the crappy picture quality. Will try again tomorrow and replace them.

You can get them straight back and they don't rob. I had mine like yours the first time and then I went back and played. They are very close to the belly buy not touching.

I used one of the spacers (meant for the 1198 in the instructions) on the outside of the brake adapter with pushes that rod out on the forward side and give a little better angle for the rod.

its easier to play with them once there on there and setup up. just remember to loosen everything. if you leave the bolt within the red piece tight it stops that arm from moving relative to the rotational piece, although the rest of it moves.

Yeah, returned to the dealer and asked them to try to lower them and viola, a nice result. I can say I'm very pleased (so far) with these rearsets.

By the way, the tires are Pirelli Angels.

Hey.. there even lower than mine, I need to go play again. With your pegs rotated that way do you no find they lift sometimes? I rotated mine so there just a little forward of vertical.

I did 3 hrs on the track on Monday and the pegs are fine.. I just had my shift lever a little low and it was making change my leg position a little more than I liked... It's my fault I didn't ride it hard enough before the track day to set it up perfect.

I was wondering the simple way the peg is attached it wouldn't be difficult to create a little cheat extension to get more adjust ability. it may push the pegs 1/2" out but there really stubby any how.
