Speedymoto rear set interest...possible goup buy?

Mine came yesterday as well, ready for a weekend install. My pegs are not anodyzed, they are painted flat black. The paint scratches right off, as a matter of fact its already worn through in spots due to the under spring installation. Is anyone else seeing this? Was this done on purpose so the pegs could be repainted once they wear? I would have thought the pegs should be anodyzed as well.

I can scratch the black off mine with a fingernail, so I seriously doubt its power coated. My guess would be that Speedymoto does this because the pegs will see the most wear, and they can be touched up.

You cannot re-anodyze a part without first stripping off the old anodization (typically an acid bath). The same can be said of powder coating, you really don't want to put a new coating over an old worn out coating, it will not cling as well. So all of that said, it makes sense to just paint them.

No matter how you coat the pegs, they will eventually wear though to the base silver, painting them, they will wear out faster, but touch up only takes a rattle can of flat black. I asked the question just to make sure Speedymoto didn't do something different just to get these sets out the door.

My rearsets are being delivered today and that's pretty dissappointing to hear in terms of finish quality if you are able to scratch the finish off the pegs with just your fingernail. I had my stock rearsets anodized black over 1,000 miles ago and the finish is still perfect. I don't want to have to take a rattle can to my rearsets after every ride so the pegs stay black.....

that sounds crazy.......im so glad I ended up getting Acculines.........the pegs are anodised and look like they would take a lot to wear........
