I just loved this movie! I thought almost everytihing was perfect in it, except for that Match 6 story...

I completelly fell in love with Trixie, I'm trying to find pics of her so I can make an icon with it :)
 
I liked all the actors in it, however the movie was a bit disappointing to me.
 
I'm thinking about watching this just for Emile Hirsch. It's not his usual genre but it's good to see him in a popcorn movie for a change. :)
 
My sister and my nephew saw it the day after I did at a different theater and they didn't get a Twilight trailer either.

My biggest complaint is that it was too long and parts of it were too corny/kiddish IMO. I would have liked it better if they had kept it more straight/adult.

But, I loved Emile as Speedracer. :love: The whole cast was great.
 
Really? I loved the movie, seriously loved.

and I actually preferred the long race sequences, haha. It totally just sucked me in! The Gran Prix finale gives me goosebumps.

I saw it twice and no Twilight trailer though. :pout: I'm planning on seeing it again (yeah, loved it THAT much!) so maybe I'll get lucky this time :lol:
 
Well boo, I didn't get a Twilight trailer. :pout:

I saw the movie today. My reaction is kind of mixed. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. I liked some of the things they did. I didn't like other things they did. Some of what they did was uber cheesy. And the movie definitely felt too long. It was too long. :lol:

But, what did work was the casting of Speed Racer. Emile was teriffic. :love: Wow, I could watch him all day long. I've been a fan for awhile and he didn't disappoint. He's just so compelling to watch. Big kudos. He made the movie worth it for me. I thought the actor playing little kid Speedy was great too. Scott Porter and Matthew Fox as Rex Racer were both fantastic as well, but not nearly as much of them as I would have liked.

And I thought Speed Racer/Trixie were cute. :glow:

But, yeah, I wouldn't sit through the whole thing again. I'd rewatch any of Emile, Scott, Foxy's scenes though...........and any Speed/Trixie scene.

Some of the racing scenes were cool, but some went on way too long. Plus the hyper colors/jumpiness made it a little hard to watch.
 
I'll be going because there's rumor of a Twilight trailer, and my boyfriend is dying to go. I've heard it's gotten mixed review, but I'm being optimistic. I think Emile Hirsch is immensely talented, I hope he's good in this one!
 
Well it's getting mixed reviews, but I guess you have to like the genre. I can not wait to take my kids to see this :)

great all around cast and the movie just looks so awesome.
 
I'm pumped to see this movie. The cast is stellar - AND, BTW, the Wachowski brothers are directing (the guys who made the Matrix).

Came across this Speed-Racer contest while trying to uncover some clips. 10 winners will win a trip to Hollywood for the premiere where - get this - they will race remote control cars. And then the winner of THAT (a guess the "grand-prize winner" if you will) will win a corvette. I'd be in just to catch a glimpse of Emile Hirsch in person - I've loved him since The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys (so basically - back in the day!)....
 
Speed Racer was originally a Japanese cartoon, I've never heard of it either but the cast is amazing. I can't wait :)

This looks like a very cool summer action film, that I will definately be taking my boys to see..but there is also some eye candy in the shape of Emile Hirsh for their mother ;) and I just adore Christina Ricci.
