Same here. Maybe they had to wait a bit longer, something to do with APTN HD launching before? maybe

Competitors also offer FrameHD and all 4 Sportsnet's full time, so should Bell offer them. I think not, Frame is a waste from what I hear and the other 2 Sportsnets show the same programming as the two we already get, except for the odd baseball or hockey game, which the channel then gets opened for.

Also, competitors offer 1080i channels in 1080i and more bandwith per channel resulting in better picture. Does Bell? No they don't. Should they? Yes they should. And that should be a top priority before I get to see cars going around in circles for 4 hours.

Oops, forgot the Bell feedback link. Here it is.

It might be widely viewed in the US, but Canada could be another story. Maybe Bell doesn't add it because not many people subscribe to Nascar Hot Pass. Out of people I know, nobody watches anything on Speed. I can count the number of times I've had Speed SD on in the last 5 years on one hand, and I wouldn't even need to use 1 finger to count. I really don't think there is much demand in Canada or from Bell subscribers for it, other then from the select few on here that want it.

I have never understood why some people feel the need to express their displeasure with what others want to watch and subscribe to...

Television networks/channels and the shows they broadcast are all subjective...let it go.

Do you not think we get enough of this from the CRTC...(ie limiting us in what they let us watch)?

It would be the exact opposite for me with people I know. Even my mother watches it for the Barrett-Jackson auctions...

Yes, I watched a lot of the Rolex 24 coverage, too. Would have been nice to see it in HD...

Whoops - forgot to mention mine is a 9200 aswell... Maybe it is MPEG4 only... Perhaps someone with both a 9200 & a 9242 can check this...

According to www.********.ca/en/sales_channel_lp.shtml and the forums listed there, it should be ch 871. (bell srdu.ca without the space between bell and srdu)

I emailed Bell about adding Speed HD a few months back, got the usual response of something like 'We'll add to the list to consider'. Wish it would launch next week with a free preview for the Barrett-Jackson auctions..:)

Speed HD would be so nice.

I find the Speed channel SD picture quality is below the standard of the other SD channels.More blurry for some reason.I have a 6131 receiver.

Shows like "Monster Jam" "BullRun" and all other races would be enjoyed much more with a better picture quality.

I do know there is a bit of a demand for it, but maybe Bell is basing the demand on the number of subscribers to the Nascar Hot Pass package, and if that is low, then maybe they think there is no demand.

I sent them this:
Speedvision HD has been available for over a year now - I have been waiting patiently money in hand to subscribe. Many of your competitors offer it to their subscribers - why is it not available on Bell? Based on the activity level of the Speed HD thread here http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=81066&page=6 there is a lot of interest with almost 13,000 hits. The programming offered on this channel is unique and has great appeal to automotive restoration and collector car fans. I have been a Bell subscriber since 2003 and I am happy with the service provided – I really don’t want to switch to another provider to get this channel but I’m getting tired of waiting.
Thank you for your consideration of this request

SpeedHD is no longer uplinked on ExpressVu, so if they carry it, it won't be for a while. The only new HD that is uplinked but not available yet is CBCHDW (804), Global HD-W, and TLC HD.

On a slightly different note- how come the French speaking channels get History HD and we English folk don't?

I sent an email to Bell around the time of the ALMS Sebring race last year. Similar email received, so that's almost a year ago.
