Special needs camp prices?

I have 2 children w/special needs. Their teachers say it's very important for them to be in something, camp whatever over the summer so that there's no regression. So far, the best I can find is about $2000 per kid for 2 weeks. So I'd be paying $4000 for my kids to get 2 weeks of camp. Does that sound about average? Or does anyone else have any suggestions?
 
Did the teacher actually "recommend" camp or just suggest that it would be beneficial? If she used the words "recommend" then it is possible that the school would have to pay for the cost of the camp.

If she is concerned about regression, ask to reconvene the IEP team to discuss your children's eligibility for Extended School Year services.
