Special Editions

I always buy the special editions of DVD's because i feel that they are much better value for money...and you get lot's of cool extra's :D
 
I buy the special edition if it's out, if not the original.

If i buy the original then buy the special edition, i will only sell the original if it has nothing extra than the SE. This isnt always the case, for example, The Bourne Identity original has DTS and audio commentaries, while the special edition doesn't; it has extra documentaries etc.

Of course, this could just be a shameful way of making buy two versions, so if i come to a film that already has an original and SE available, I will go with the one which has the better extras in my opinion. For example, again with The Bourne Identity, I'd buy the original because a DTS audio track and audio commentaries are far more interesting and useful to me than a few extra documentaries.
 
Superbit dvd's don't have any extra features instead they have better sound and picture quality than standard dvd's...haven't seen a Superbit DVD before myself though
 
I had an e-mail from Choices Direct saying they had selected Fox SE's buy one get one free, and it also says this on homepage. But on the dvd offer page, it says buy two for
 
Not very keen on special edition DVRAB anymore. They used to be excellent, with real thought and effort put into them; now, they tend to be stuffed with any ol' bit of rubbish they can find - usually worthless 'making of...' documentaries advertising the film you've just purchased and deleted scenes that are actually just a series of alternative takes.

I'm now restricting myself to buying special editions of films that I really love and don't already own! I refuse to fork out another
