I have a 1999 Mercury Mystique with Premium Sound, this means my speaker get power from a separate amp. I bought the correct adapter and had all the wires connected correctly but the stereo would not make noise when plugged in, even though the device powered on and said everything was working. I tried the CD, radio, and i-pod hooked up. Is there some way to get it to work with either a different stereo, or do i need to rewire the speakers, I've been told that would work. Any advice would help as i have returned that stereo and am again using the factory installed. I would love to get any stereo that has the ability to hook up my i-pod, either through aux or usb, usb preferred.
Speakers won't work with new stereo, but do with old stereo?
