It's really weird, I know it's not the speaker because I have replaced it three times. I am using 6.5 alpine speakers with a 10" kicker sub and two amps. The driver side speaker will play for maybe anywhere to a couple hours straight to a couple weeks straight, but then it will just alternate from emitting sound and no sound. the left door speaker has no problems. what could be the problem. How do i fix this?
THANKS!

I had the same problem its caused by a bad ground wire are your wires are loose from the amp to the speaker are from the cd player to the speaker which ever way you have it set up

a wiring problem, If you did this yourself im guessing you used electic tape to do the splice and that is the wrong way to do it. Restrip the wire at the connection and replace it with a butt splice. If this is not the problem check all the connections on the speaker at both the speaker and the radio. You can do this with a multimeter. If it is the original speaker wiring and an older car it may be a short because of old wiring and you will need to re-wire that speaker. It is easy to do jst tie the wires together and pull the old wire out and the new wire will take its place.

It depends what your using to play the music, I use to have an old ipod that when hooked up to my car it would play out of select speakers. maybe your system only picks up certain highs and lows out of the songs your playing, for instance a high e string on a guitar is hard to pick up on a system.. then again it could also be shorts in the wiring or something, check for exposed wires or last but not least get someone at an audio place to look at the prob. for you.

sounds like what happened to me before. you probably don't have the right thickness of cables connecting your subs and amps to the battery. when they get overloaded, they pass on the heat to the smaller wires and cables, which get bad and burn. the wire going to your speaker may be burned, or maybe just at the connecting points, i suggest you take a look at that. if that's it, get thicker main cables. i forgot what they're called, that's just what the shop did to my car...
