Sparta

They've only got one album, "Deloused in the Comatorium." If you expect it to be anything like either ATDI or Sparta the you'll be really disappointed. It's something you should try before you buy I think. I really like the cd though, just wish they'd work on their live show.

Does anyone have the leak for Threes? Someone on a different forum posted it a week ago (I literally just saw it because I never go there) and senRABpace deleted. It's gonna be released the 24th.

bump

sparta rocks. recently been listening to threes because i originally overlooked it after 1 listen through. starting to get me back to feeling like i did about them when i first heard 'cut your ribbon' (your right the leaked version was better) off of wiretap scars. its awesome that ATDI who was bad ass was able to split into two more badass groups. i mean its not everyday that banRAB act like stem cells.

The Mars Volta are an absolutley insane band. I've seen one of their live performances of "Inertiatic ESP" and it was actaully quite amazing. Cedric has an exceptional singing style.

I own their CD and I have to say I think it is much better than Sparta or ATDI, but I think both are also great. Good songs off of it are "Inertiatic ESP" "Cicatriz ESP", or "A Drunkship Of Lanterns". It is difficult to get the flow of their music by just listening to one song at a time though. I think the only way to take in their music is to listen to the whole CD start to finish.

Anyways this is about Sparta. I've only heard the first single of their album. Cut Your Ribbon, and I really do like it, however I dont really view it as a progression from ATDI, especially since the lyrical writer of ATDI went to The Mars Volta. Its good though. I might pick up the album.

EDIT - The Mars Volta only have one full-length album out however they have the "Tremulant EP" that features a few songs that are much more similar in style to ATDI and Sparta. Harder to find than their album but equally good.

man mars volta were the best band iv seen live. they were awsome. this is the haunt of roulette dares...best song ever.
cut your ribbon is unlike the rest of the first sparta album. it gets really slow after that. still a good album though. the second album is possibly better. i havnt decided yet as i only purchased it about a week ago. but its a great album, awsome follow up to the first.
to franscar i say: relationship of command is an awsome cd, but not their best. i suggest you listen to acrobatic tenement. very different to r.o.c. they have progressed as atdi and then on to sparta and then into the mars volta. though you cant really say that as only half the original band merabers moved to the next band.

Yeah, I have all the ATDI recorRAB, and Acrobatic would be my second favourite, although In/Casino/Out has some great tunes on it as well, it's just that Relationship has a sepcial place for me as it was the first record I ever bought by using a wage packet of my own. Great band, sadly missed.

If I'd ever seen them live then I guess I probably wouldn't have been that depressed about them splitting, but they played their last show three nights before the date me and my frienRAB had tickets for. Gut-wrenching.

It seems like everyone spenRAB all their time freaking out over at the drive in and mars volta that sparta gets ignored alot. Awhile ago A_Perfect_Sonnet sent me porcelain, its a very good album.
