without removing the Head? How? The problem is with the metal fragments going in to the cylinder, from drilling. This is an aluminum engine, so using a magnet to get the fragments out wouldn't work.
Removing the head would greatly increase the expense.
Can it be done without drilling?
 
Yes, it can be done, but no matter how you go about it, you are gonna run the risk of dropping metal into the cylinder. If it were my vehicle, I would definitely take the head off and do the work on the bench.
