So a while back my little space-saver or "donut" spare got destroyed when AAA didn't fill it correctly.
The car is leased, so I'm assuming Lexus is going to make me replace the spare tire, but I don't want to have to go through the dealer, because they said it would be $400+ to replace the rim and the tire.
They said I could go to local junkyards and ask them if they have the spare, but I don't know if these spare tires fit many different kinds of cars, or if they only fit my particular model.
What should I be asking at these junkyards so I have the best chance of finding the spare tire that will fit the car? I have a 2006 Lexus IS250 with 18" wheels, but I'm just looking for a new/used space-saver/donut spare.
