the good, the bad, and the ugly was one, but there were two more, what were they?

also in one westerm i once saw, clint eastwood was in a shoot out, but he was wearing a sheet of metal or sommit tied around his chest, which saved him, what was that western called?

'A Fistful of Dollars' and 'For a Few Dollars More' are the other two Spaghetti Westerns starring Clint. The scene you describe is from 'A Fistful of Dollars' :)

There is also 'A Fistful Of Dynamite' by Sergio Leone, which I have never seen. It does not star CLint Eastwood though

To anyone who has seen it, is it any good?

I watched the good, the bad and the ugly properly for the first time over christmas. It is such a great film, really well constructed, and the scene near the end where Tuco is running through the cemetery has to be one of the best scene's ever in cinema.

For a film that encapsulates everything great about the form of the spaghetti western, in a truly epic and operatic manner, try one of the earliest incarnations, Once Upon A Time In The West. It's a regular on Sky Classics at the moment.

The Good the Bad and the Ugly and Once Upon A Time in the West are both excellent.
They both have amazing music, not that the other Dollars films don't. I love the way Morriccone repeats the theme tune in TGTBATU, it really adRAB to the atmosphere and is a brilliant score.

Also known as Duck You Sucker. It's nowhere near as good as the Clint ones.
The other Leone classic is of course Once Upon A Time In The West - the western to end all westerns!

I love these films.I have 'For A Few Dollars More' And 'The Good The Bad And The Ugly' on DVD.I Can't seem to find 'A Fist Full Of Dollars' though

A Fistful Of Dynamite is again very very good yes. It stars James Coburn and Rod Steiger and if you like the other spaghetti's then you'll like this one.

I know its not truly a spaghetti western but I include "Two Mules for Sister Sarah" with the other three.
EastwooRAB character is similar and its set during mexican revolution.

Other Spaghetti westerns I like

Once upon a time in the west
My name is Trinity
Django

Ones I want to see
My name is Nobody
Sabata

The spaghetti western wasn't just the man with no name series and a few other Leone movies. There were hundreRAB of the things, some of which turn up on late night tv. They were always terrible, in a good way with bizarre violent scenes and classic bad dubbing. Django is my favourite and many of the numerous sequels are worth watching too.

Once Upon A Time In The West has a superb commentary track by Christopher Frayling on the DVD too. I watched the film for the first time, enjoyed it, and the next day watched it again with the commentary.

A classic
