It's impossible to fathom why Dave/UKTV make certain cuts.

The other day they had QIXL and the F word was not cut or bleeped, yet the next show Argumental had the word bleeped.

They even cut Red Dwarf. Infact they cut one of the most famous lines from Polymorph.
 
Just noticed that one of the greatest tv programmes of all time (IMHO) is starting tonight on Dave at 10pm.

Thought I would give you the heads up.
 
It maybe that later episodes are cut, not the first.

They had just one commercial break 10minutes in which is unlikely to be where it was originally.

Perhaps in future episodes they insert a second commercial break 20minutes in and slice out 2minutes of the show.
 
Thanks for the heads up. I've got it on DVD too, but it's been a while since I've watched it, so I'll definitely tune in, I love it!
 
It's so weird how/ why they have to cut Spaced for ads, especially as it was on Channel 4 originally.

The daft thing was they cut the bit where they tell Marsha how long they've been together, and then it was reffered to later on!

Dave, leave it alone, but the adverts where the adverts should be and stop pissing about with people's programmes.

At least I have it on DVD.
 
The broadcast of a show is always a better experience than watching it off DVD.

Why give QI and the likes 40 minutes but only give Spaced 30!?!

Maybe the Dave editors took "Skip to the End" literally and started carving off huge chunks with their comedy clippers.
 
It's because QI is a BBC thing and episodes are about 28 minutes long. With extra adverts it bumps them up to 40 minutes. Spaced (without ads) is 22 minutes long and so even with adverts it takes it up to about 30 minutes.
 
My point was - why not give it more time rather than cut bits out? If they stick 12 minutes of ads on QI then presumably they'll stick about the same on Spaced. Even just five minutes extra would do it.

Then they could have an uncut episode and a couple of extra minutes for even more ads for other things on Dave.
