I have another question about allergy to soy. My daughter was just diagnosed
as having a soy allergy, class 4. Does that mean she is allergic to soybeans, or pure soy or also hydrogenated soybean oil and soy lecithin? She frequently eats items with those two ingredients in it and is fine. So can she continue to eat those items? I am new to this and don't know what I have to cut out. Thanks

A lot of people continue to eat things they have allergies to, the problems come
depending on how allergic you are.

Mild allergies can be a digestive upset, stronger allergies would show hives and respiratory problems. Severe allergies would be like a severe asthma attack, coma, or death.

If your open minded, run a web search on muscle testing, very easy to learn, a little practice maybe 30 minutes.

Then you can test your child to see which soy she's has a problem with, and then when your at the store you can test her before you buy.

I am also allergic to soy myself. This allergy just developed in the past few years but in general, I am severely allergic to all nuts (all of my life). Anyway, for me, my soy allergy isn't as severe as say my nut allergy but I have to watch the ingredients in food as some soy products I can have and some I cannot. For example, I cannot handle soy protein, soya sauce (I can smell it in a dish and immediately I know it's in there), soy beans or soybean oil but I CAN have products that contain hydrolyzed soy protein.
