I am a bit of a cultural nomad...I can switch on/off different cultures at the drop of a hat and love all of them...
I am very curious about southern culture...the Texans...the Ford 150s/Durangos...country music...cowboy boots...sprawling land...
I love cultures...I dont care if you are from Dakar, Senegal...or Fort Worth, Texas...if thats your native culture...it matters and God knows I NEVER would want to see it disappear...
I understand why native southerners get so upset when they see such a dramatic change in their landscape...the land is drop dead BEAUTIFUL...
The endless fields of gold and green...the hills...very enchanting really...day or night...
I understand when they see hordes or city dwellers moving out into the country...bringing their own cultural ways and habits...the destruction of land...immigrants from all over (including myself)...
I really do get it...and I feel bad...
Its not just empty land for the taking...its a culture...and people with close family ties and a way of life unique to their own...
I do get it...if only I could express it in words...
