Southern Culture on the Skids Pt 2?

It is a little known fact, which should be as apparent as neon at night from the answers people post on this site, that individuals read their own inadequacies, fears, pretensions, and biases into what is WRITTEN by another. I was also born in NC and Grad from UNC, lived in SC, NY, CA, PA, FL, NJ, and TN. I love southern mansions. I'm proud of my uncle who died in France in the 3rd Army, Was a few blocks down Hudson St from the WTC on 9-11 and cried with everyone else at the time. I'm well over 40 (but happy to be called a kid :) and have a son about to enter a career in law enforcement. I voted for Reagan, GHWBush, H Clinton for Senate in NY and Johnny Isakson in GA. I never said I hate the south or Georgia, and would probably rather live in Charlotte NC than almost anywhere else. And yet a quick post with a few frank political positions, an observation on the absurdity of a single official US language and depreciating comment on a long dead relative resulted in some very amusing little rants. Why is that?
GreatJustice gets the prize!!!!! The first three poster's missed the boat, er, john-boat that is. Except for those that over react to a comment about burning the confederate flag (which has no official status in the US) it wasn't an attack on the south at all. I set up those that would be riled with a title based on a band on my playlist "honey, could you eat that there snack cracker in your special outfit" :), asked for southern eloquence, and spoke definitively only about my own political beliefs. Like anyone I may read something into several of the replies. But on the whole, it was most amusing. Idiots you see, come from all over. For some reason though, they really like those stars and bars. :)
