Southern California outage?

Anyone else only have GSM instead of EDGE today in southern california?

meeeeeee....... it was fine all day in torrance, but when i got back home to cerritos area it was gone! my friends' that stayed in the cerritos area had the problem all day.

I had EDGE all day. Though, I tried to send an email and it got hung up for well over an hour.

Carrier outages guys (localized to California it seems).

It seems like they have fixed the problem, but I had a horrible signal all day today in LA area... no emails no internet with unstable GSM and even calls kept dropping... it nearly ruined my whole day...

i agree and had the same problemss!!! except i didnt even get GSM all i got was
searching....

searching for network

I heard that they were activating 3G in So Cal today, maybe related?

In downtown LA my Berry dropped to GSM at about noon. EDGE was restored at about 22:30.

yup, Monday i got nothing but "Call Failed" and "Radio Path Unavailable" even with a full bar of EDGE and it kept switching to GPRS to GSM to EDGE...

i read on crackberry that it is very related to the 3G launch. mostly affecting the OC area but some LA areas

what about yesterday and today?? i cant connect to the internet although it shows EDGE.... it says "a communication failure has occurred. the server may be busy, please try again later" ... any idea?
