South Park "The List" Talkback (Spoilers)

Wow, a season finale that didn't smell....how long's it been? Real-life observation instead of parody. Old gags brought back funnier than ever. And I agree with Lincoln 100%...oftentimes the pretty ones think they can coast on just that forever. I thought he had appeared to tell that old story about how he failed at everything except becoming President; thank goodness it was about something else.

And now for MY list:

Imaginationland Trilogy
The Snuke
Fantastic Easter Special
The List
With Apologies To Jessie Jackson
Le Petit Tourette
Cartman Sucks
Guitar Queer-O
Night of the Living Homeless
More Crap
Lice Capades
D-Yikes

Fantastic episode with some ridiculous plot on the girl's side and a great closing gag reimagined. Not to sure how well Abe Linchon fit into the plot, but I loved how his bits.

Very much looking forward to season 12.

Once again Matt & Trey have outdone my expectations. I mean this was a good season while other shows at the 11th season either end or decline in quality during this season. Kenny dying and Stan barfing on Wendy brought back good memories from seasons of the past with those gags coming at the right time in the episode.

Oddly enough, Butters being listed as number 11 coincide with his birthday being on September 11th and as the last episode for the 11th season. It's something I noticed.

Wow. Awesome episode! Finally a good season finale from the show.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Cartman's original plan (who would've thought that girls didn't have balls?)
The ugly kids
Abe Lincoln
Ohh...sparkles
The list committee
Kyle trying to burn down the school
Apparently, it's possible for a bullet from the roof of the school to reach Kenny's house.
Stan barfing on Wendy.

Ah, the good ol' times...

Just finished watching this, man what a great episode!

They took a generic plot line and turned it into something epic. I love the throwbacks to the older episodes. When that bullet was fired and everyone was searching for a wound I thought: "They wouldn't possibly kill Kenny, they haven't done that in a loooooong time", but to my pleasant surprise they immediately cut to Kenny's family eating dinner and surly enough BAM! Ahh, the good ol' days. And Stan and Wendy together again at the end? Another bit of great nostalgia. I really hope this is a sign that they are going to return back to basics and make the show about SOUTH PARK and it's denizens and not constant political satire like they've been doing....forever.

Not as good as Stanley's Cup or Bloody Mary, but still a good finale. I do miss the days when we'd get a crazy Christmas episode to go out with a bang for the season (Red Sleigh Down, Christmas in Canada, Woodland Critters). But I guess there's only so many Christmas stories they can do.

For some reason the funniest part for me was when Kyle told the Lincoln ghost to take him home and it shows him dropping him off in a car. Classic South Park nonsense.

How in the world can anyone rate Guitar Queer-O below Night of the Living Homeless?

Because I think Night of the Living Homeless is funnier than Guitar Queer-O.

Were you expecting a different answer? That's all I've got.

I didn't get that part where Butters kicked that girl between the legs. Isn't a kick in the vulva just as painful and incapasitating as a kick in the testicles?

They've been using computers since the first episode, actually, if you watch the episode a few times you'll notice that certain scenes (like Cartman farting fire in class and the aliens trying to communicate with the cows) were computer generated and not done with construction paper.

Anyway, it was refreshing to see Kenny getting killed and Stan puking on Wendy again. I chuckled a little when I saw the Corbin Bleu poster in the girls' list-making club, because I know a girl who is absolutely OBSESSED with him.

You're going to have a hard time finding someone who can make a definitive comparison from personal experience, but I have to assume that the gonads that are more "out there" are more vulnerable.

Because 'Night Of The Living Homeless' was excellent and 'Guitar Queer-O' was more average?

Anyway, great season and best season ender since 'Woodland Critter Christmas' back in season 8.

That episode was fantastic. I loved how they brought back old characters, old gags, and a plot that wasn't a parody of a movie or anything like that.

I don't think anyone saw Kenny's death coming.

Like last week I also enjoyed this episode, I guess I must be in my south park mood. Maybe Its just the episodes that rely on current events and politics that bore me.

Yeah, this was pretty great. Probably my favorite episode in quite a time. I think South Park can lose itself too much in its conceptual episode gags (which made me not like the Imaginationland trilogy much) but this managed to be off the wall and completely logical, even a bit insightful.

ME LIST:
The List
Fantastic Easter Special
Guitar Queer-O
Night of the Living Homeless (with the possibility of seeming hypocritical on the conceptual gags point)
With Apologies To Jessie Jackson
Cartman Sucks
Le Petit Tourette
The Snuke
More Crap
Imaginationland Trilogy
Lice Capades

(I missed D-Yikes)

Based on your comments I do not think you would've liked it.

By the way, there was barely any Ms. Garrisson during this half of the season. She was in "Le Petit Tourette" and that's about it. I guess "D-Yikes" was enough for this season.

Say, did anyone notice that Pip wasn't in the list of boys girls made? Now here's a character nobody uses anymore. Hell, he didn't have a speaking line since season 6.
