Kinda surprised no one made one for this yet so I did it this time

In tonight's episode, the class is held hostage while Butters and Cartman go to a amusment center

I'm just guessing, but I can almost guarantee that Butters and Cartman will save the day, then Cartman's going to doublecross Butter's and let him take the punishment for sneaking out of the village.

LOL, Cartman's running animation for the mofo win.

I suspected they were gonna take a jab at the recent polygamist thing, but this was just a standalone wacky episode with no crazy satire. I do want to go to Super Phun Thyme though.

Now THAT, my friends, was an episode. Lots of good stuff, I'm not sure where to begin. Obviously the parody of horribly boring educational field trips was funny, and they eased up on the "big concept" joke (that the employees won't break character) just when it started to become repetitive. That's not to say they abandoned it, because it did play a major part in the episode, but it took different forms and different roles in the plot instead of just being the same joke over and over again.

One of my favorite jokes was when the criminal "got his cut" early, taking the burger and "thumbing through it" like one would thumb through a stack of dollars. It was just so incredibly stupid I couldn't help but laugh.

Butters was in rare form as well. The twist with them thinking the cops were after them was well-played.

Man, I always hated those field trips back in grade school. The ending was great where all the employees celebrated after finding out they could break character.

I'm really amazed, this seems like a plot driven episode. No satire, no actual parody of something, just a random plot. The ending with the actors breaking character after closing time, revealing stuff that could've been useful earlier. That and such things as Mr. Garrison and Stan & Wendy being a couple again made this feel more like an old-school South Park. My pick for best so-far.

Best episode of Season 12 thus far.

Highlights:
- Cartman looking around for a partner and being rejected by all.
- Butters kicking his foot in the dirt adorabley.
- Super Fun Time song.
- "Remember: Never Break Character!"
- Crying, wimpy Butters.
- Hanging at the traffic light.
- "Stan, you were really brave to do that. But you did sound like a douchebag." "I know. :|"
- Butters still clinging to Cartman's hand even at the very end. Jesus, how much stamina could you have to survive an explosion and still carry an unconcious fatty like that.

Low Points:
- Commercials. :'CCC

Is it just me, or do they try at least once (and sometimes only once) a season to actually go back more to the roots of South Park. No big parody of some sort of news event or old animatied program, no over reliance on Mr. Garrision Or Randy Marsh to overrract to everything, no just sticking to one or two memebers of the cast and forgoing all others. Sometimes, they just remember the heart of the show is in the kids interaction to the world around them with some crazyness involved but grounded and still understandable without having to know about this parody or that thing. Just a straightforward episode. Really after Philepdia Aids, Britney Spears Lottery, Heavy Metal Cat Pee Kenny, Striking Canadains, Spanish Teacher Cartman and Web Obessed Randy I was looking for some more normalcy and was glad to find it here. There were also a good range of jokes here too: Everyone partnering up and no one wanting to be with Cartman, the kids annoynedness at the pioneer talking people, Cartman getting Butters to go to Super Fun time and them having to hold hands so people thought they were coupley, the bank robbers robbing a Burger King (I also am glad that was the ONLY connection between this and the episode they played before this "A Million Little Fibers" since they usually do the whole connecting theme thing with a previous episode when a new one's premiering), Cartman having a good time at Super Fun Time and Butters just being dragged along, Stan/Wendy Kyle/Jimmy managing to get to a phone and call the police in, Cartman and Butters trying to sneak back in (I'm also really glad they didn't just keep them stuck on the street light since that would be too cliched a joke), Kenny being threathened with Death when the pioneer folks wouldn't talk, Stan having to save the day by role playing his way to get them to admit the code, Butters knocking down that one guy who wanted them to let go of they're hands, the pinoeer people only stopping at 5PM (seriously and you thought Cosplayers were bad when on the clock. Well they are but still) and Butters dragging Cartman to the bus at the end. Overall very solid stuff without any irritations you get in the bigger more lessoned focused episodes that try and put some big parody on everything.

This is the last episode of this half of the season (new episodes will resume airing in October). It went out with a bang, at least.

Several highlights, including, but not limited to, Butters hanging on to Cartman's hand all the way to the end, actors taking the "Never Break Character" thing seriously, the way Stan got the villagers to reveal the number of the lock, and others that I can't remember but will when I rewatch it.

That Cartman/Butters subplot must be a tribute/parody of one of those sitcom cliches where two characters that hate each-other are hand-cuffed together.

EDIT:

Oh, and this exchange: "You mean the really annoying place where the employees won't break character?" "Sister, you don't know the half of it."

Is anyone else questioning why we got yet another moral about abusing technology in like the second week in a row?

Other than that it is a strong episode. Cartman and Butter antics sure made me laugh, and the fact that most of the workers didn't break character until they were off the clock was classic.

I loved it....best parts...

Noone wants to be Cartman's partner (I loved when after being rejected by Kyle,he says "What did I ever do to you?" )

The Pioneer Village workers' refusal to break character, even though they're being killed

Cartman and Butters thinking that the police are after them for leaving the field trip

Butters' refusal to let go of Cartman's hand, even when faced with the possibility of being shot

The Pioneer Villige workers immediately breaking character when the end of the work day is announced

This is probably the second time Butters has actually stood up to Cartman, the last time being when he and Token ganged up on him.
