South Park - "Poor and Stupid" - Talkback [10/6]

Fantastic/hilarious episode, an amazing season opener,

The highlights:
Awwww, Eric wanting to be a NASCAR driver when he grows up was sweet.
Stan/Kyle actually showing concern for Eric was a nice touch.
I feel bad for Butters to join in one of Eric's crazy schemes, hehehe.
Eric wanting to be poor/stupid in his scheme was great.
Eric watching Two and a Half Men to be stupider was funny.
So hilarious when Eric got busted while eating the Vagisil, hahahahaha.
Eric making Butters getting rid of the NASCAR driver with the rape lie was so funny.
Go Kenny to totally kill Eric on filling the Kyle role, it's nice he gets a major role in this episode.
Eric's Southern accent while bashing Barack Obama was so hilarious, hahahahaha:p:D.
Butters' Southern accent also cracked me up as well, hahahahahahaha!!!!!
Kenny bringing the sniper rifle to kill Eric was brilliant/funny.
Eric was so nasty trashing the other NASCAR racers/killing the poor people, but he wins the evil horrible child awards next to Angelica, hehehe.
Eric bashing poor Kenny with the brakes was so funny.
Patty was awesome for beating Eric and winning the race, take that Jeff:D!!!!!
Eric "apologizing" to Kenny surprised me for what he did.
It was nice that Kenny didn't die in the episode since he was the main focus.
I was sad that Kenny didn't totally kick Eric in the balls at the end, oh well, at least Eric's comeuppances with Token/The Dog Whisperer/Wendy kicking his butt were still the greatest though:D:D.

It's funny. I spent all summer trying to guess what Trey and Matt would make fun of first once new episodes began again - the BP oil spill? The Mel Gibson domestic abuse incident? Inception? - and then the first episode back from the break doesn't lampoon any current events at all. Whoops.

Started out kinda weak, but steadily picked up steam as it went on. Usually these episodes where Cartman is very passionate about something completely wrong tend to irritate me after a while, but this one only got better. Maybe I was just mesmerized by all those shiny CGI race cars. I don't follow NASCAR, nor does anyone in my family, but I still know enough about the stereotype of the fanbase to appreciate this episode. Butters' hick voice makes me giggle.

I know they're rare nowadays, but I was genuinely expecting a Kenny death in this episode. The bit where Cartman slams on the brakes and sends him flying across the racetrack seemed like the perfect opportunity for one, especially in the wake of everyone else that Cartman had just run over.

The Butters/Cartman team up episodes never fail to make me laugh. Kenny's sideplot and the news conference scene were my favorite parts.

I'm a little bummed about next week's episode because, up until about two weeks ago, I managed to remain blissfully ignorant of the Jersey Shore phenomenon. Now it's EVERYWHERE I look.
