It used to be that on cable, EVERYTHING mature and meant for adults would be aired after 8 p.m. Now look:
- The pay channels air R rated/MA show during the day. HBO and the like used to wait until after 7 p.m. to air R rated movies, now you can see them all day long. Showtime even had a 'Shameless' marathon in the daylight hours a few months back.
- Shows like NCIS, Supernatural, CSI, etc. get daytime timeslots despite all the gore/sex/violence.
Then you have syndication with Springer and his clones. The less said about them the better.
South Park's the least of parent's worries when you have much more hardcore stuff airing in the daytime.
