South Park "ImaginationLand, Part Three" Talkback (Spoilers)

Judging by that ending and "Le Petit Tourette", I see they're taking a few more liberties with their cable TV-MA status.

I also liked the part that was like a phone call where it passed from Stan to Jesus to Luke Skywalker to Superman to Hercules.

Well, this episode was clearly the best of the trilogy. It had all the big laughs, pretty much. Oh wait, I already said that.

And the "dream" thing doesn't feel like a cop-out because of all that stuff we learned in the episode about imagination and all that... it's like it doesn't even matter. In fact, it could even be exactly what it looked like, in terms of what we saw happening on screen... which was in Imaginationland, which means technically, no matter how you look at it, it had to be imaginary.

.......Am I real?

There's something unquestionably epic about Jesus decapitating Pinhead.

It would have been nice if Butters had turned some of that abuse back on his parents, even if they were just imaginary. Just once.

Anybody notice that Aslan's voice was somewhat redubbed in the second part and continued into this?

I was also hoping that Al Gore would get mauled by Manbearpig.

I found Al Gore rushing into the portal control room and firing the nuke after everything seemed to have settled hilarious, though I did find it odd that he wasn't sucked into the portal with everyone else.

This was a fairly good trilogy, but it's not really 'epic' enough for me. While I wasn't too thrilled with how everything wrapped up (where are the terrorists? How did they even get in there? What was with that cop-out for Cartman and Kyle, they wasted 3 episodes on that plot! *and yeah I get why plot-wise, but entertainment wise, it was a lame wrap-up*, Why didn't they take the opportunity to switch Manbearpig with Kyle during the electrocution in episode two, talk about a missed opportunity!? and so on and so on), I was happy with all the callbacks to previous episodes.

I honestly thought part three was pretty average, and the whole trilogy as a whole wasn't as amazing as it first appeared to be (I was pumped from part one with that whole 'what's behind the gate' thing, part two was a complete disappointment on that note, and part three didn't make up for it).

This half of the season, compared to the last half, isn't as exciting or as re-watchable so far. Imaginationland, for me, was a bit of a bust, and although I loved 'More Crap' (A great poke-fun episode), the Tourette episode felt dated before it even hit the air. I loved the first half of the season, mostly, so I guess this part's not really hitting that same mark.

Also, am I the only one who thinks they need to start using Kenny again? Sure, there's not a ton to work with, but he's been strangely absent for the last few seasons. Maybe they could remove the hood a bit and just have him as one of the guys? He has his own personality, so it wouldn't be too bad as long as the hood stays on for the majority of the new episodes.

ANYWAY, C for part three, and C+ for the trilogy.

The terrorists were killed by the evil characters. They probably had their own secret doorway into Imaginationland. How they got in really wasn't important.

It might not be important, but it's nothing one or two lines of dialog couldn't divulge a little into.

Also thank you for answering the 'Where' question, I guess I nodded off a bit during that part.

Calm down, dude. Maybe he didn't happen to see that episode, or others with evidence.

Anyway, I have a new favorite SP quote thanks to this episode, and it's in my sig.

That was amazing! I love the trilogy as a whole, and I'm glad the third part didn't disappoint. Butters was pretty cool. I bet Darkseid is jealous Butters had the Anti-Life Equation (or something along those lines). I'm glad they didn't cut away from the battle like the war of heaven episode.

Kyle getting that pep talk from everyone was funny, and I really liked his speech at the end. It does make a lot of sense, and they even touched upon the religious aspect we were wondering about when we saw Jesus last week. I thought it was funny in a sad way that guy said Jesus was real and Buddha is imaginary.

And that quote was great too. Especially since that guy technically isn't real. These episodes actually reminded me of the Vertigo comic books Fables and Jack of Fables.

No, what was it?

I'm glad they did that too. I'm wondering if there were any characters they wanted to use but couldn't for legal reasons. They mentioned Superman, but did they ever actually show him?

While not better then the last two episodes, this one at least is on the level of the previous Imaginationlands. I'm glad to see they actually did address two things I was wondering about this in the trilogy. Just what the moral is (imaginary characters can be considered more real in a sense since they'll be remembered and appreciated long after most real people are dead) and just why we've been seeing religious and fictious characters in imaginary land before that we've seen in the actual SP (a message on how you can't just differ a line on which things are imaginary or not like that. Otherwise you just end up as stupid and close minded as the government members were potrayed as). There were defintley a lot of good scenes in this one: Butters having to figure out how to use his real world powers to help the imaginary land characters, Al Gore appearing and mentioning ManBerPig as real but not really doing anything but pretending to fly around and almost nuke the place (Guess an MBP vs Al Gore battle would of been pointless unless you just wanted to see Gore get brutally murdered), the court case being mentioned on TV, Cartman asking Kyle to "suck his balls real quick", the imgainary battles (Among various other cameos we get the Cavity Creeps and a Krest Gel. Thinking about it though tehre should of been a rematch battle between Santa and the Christmas Crittes since Santa is the only one who knows how to kill them), Kyle having to listen to Jesus and Luke Skywalker and other imaginary characters to be convinced to do the right thing, Cartman and Kyle breaking through the window and the adminsitrator asking why they can break in so easily, Kyle admitting to Cartman he will never suck Cartman's balls even if he did get thrown in jail, Butters dues ex machinaish saving everyone, Imaginary Kyle having to suck Imaginary Cartman's balls (seriously the most LOL thing of the Trilogy IMHO) and the ending (guess they can be more lienant on the s-word now more then just a couple of special caes). Overall a good ending to the Trilogy, but I wonder what else Matt and Trey will give us to cap off season 11. Probably not somethign Imaginary Land related but hopefully something as watchable.

I've seen it on a lot of boards all over the 'net, people wondering why Butters didn't become Professor Chaos in order to save the day? And, my theory is this: to Butters, he's not imaginary! In fact, I believe "Professor Chaos" is an emerging, not-quite-fully-developed alternate personality for Butters. Yes, we've got our own Sybil in the making, people!

Well I enjoyed it, although it seemed like with a lot of jokes, Matt and Trey took the easy or predictable way out. That's not to say that most of those jokes didn't deliver, but stuff like what was behind the wall, the big battle, Butter's powers, were all pretty predictable.

The resolution to Kyle sucking Cartman's balls though, that one I wasn't expecting.

Amazing hilarious episode! My absolute favourite! Did anyone see Venom,Darkseid and the SCarecrow at the beginning? It literally had almost all the most important fictional characters!
