South Park - "Dead Celebrities" - Talkback [10/7]

It was okay. I like the Chipotle running gag, and I'm pretty glad they didn't focus on Ghost Hunters. I could do without 22 minutes of "OMG WHAT IS THAT???".

I liked it. The Chipolte gag was great, especially since it paid off in the end.

And I'm also glad the Ghost Hunters parody was short.

And Cartman's admiration of Billy Mays was great.

"Why would you eat a sandwich that makes you crap blood?"

A decent episode but nothing great. Did get a few chuckles out of me.

Billy Mays jokes have been done to death (irony...) and have been done much better. It makes sense that he was in this episode by I personally didn't find it that funny. I did like how Cartman was actually helpful and not entirely antagonistic in this episode though.

I liked it. The Ghost Hunters parody kind of felt like a missed opportunity, but the celebrity gags were all pretty funny without coming off as being disrespectful to them.

That was a funny episode I died on that mIKEchale jackson (just couldn't find a better way to put it) singing it sounded just like him! and that Ghost hunters "It sounded like a thoop". the only thing I didn't like was that lady or guy going into that long detail of purgatory, it just seemed like the Bruce scene in family guy unless it's was suppoused to be like Poltergiest I really didn't see that if it was.

I was hoping that the Comedy Network would show this one tonight. The new episodes are always shown on a Friday, but it was a real old episode instead. Kind of disappointed. Typical Canadian networks.

That was basically a set up for actually seeing the celebrities in purgatory later in the episode. Saying that purgatory was like being on airplane that never leaves was supposed to be a metaphor, but then it turned out to be exactly what purgatory was like.

I have seen a list of the dead celebrities on the Sp Scriptorium site. And I think they forgot Karl Malden. Was he shown in this episode? And what about Eunice Kennedy Shriver?

If you are in Canada you can't access the download for the episode. Not yet anyway.

It is actually a stream, but there is a way you might be able to see it. I will send you the URL to pass geo-restrictions. (have you seen it yet on Comedy Network in Canada)

There were a few hilarious scenes in the episode:

- When Ike was explaining his problem to the psychiatrist.
"Do you see any dead celebrities right now?
"Yes. Ed McMahon (probably butchered Ed's last name) is standing right behind you."
That was great.

- The beauty pageant was hilarious.

- Michael's voice wasn't totally believable; but it was still great.
"No. That's ignorant."

==================

Not-as-funny scenes

- The purgatory scene wasn't great

- Some parts of the Ghosthunters sequence were funny; but it got bad towards the end.

I thought the episode was alright....The "Ghost Hunters" scenes made me laugh, and the stuff with Michael Jackson's ghost was amusing,too...I loved when they figured out how to get him out of Ike ("Get him to be seen as what he's always wanted to be seen as")...What does MJ want to be seen as?....a child,white,...and a girl....:D...
