Soundgarden

I think they were too prog-ish to really be accepted. When I think of Soundgarden I think the best stuff are songs like "Slaves & Bulldozers", "Jesus Christ Pose", "4th of July."

They were never going to sell billions with that crap. Its too left of center. Its too artsy for the metal kiRAB. I think they ought to be applauded for sticking to their guns even if some folks who shall remain nameless think it makes them second tier.

Unless they secretly have some vast amount of musical output that's way more quirky than anything I've ever heard by them I don't really understand what would make them "left of center".

I think you'll agree that in retrospect, they hardly deserve to be grouped in with giants like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Nirvana. Not that STP weren't a great band. Their first two albums are 90s classics.

Yeah, I don't have UltraMega OK which is annoying cause it's the only one I Don't have, and I think I like the stuff that's on it.

As for My favourite of their songs, I would have to say Mind Riot or 4th of July.

They were just as big as the above banRAB but just happened to come from LA but certainly agree that their first two albums were their best. I always think of them as a biggie of the grunge movement as well.

Have you guys heard Superunknown..? It's a masterpiece. Even their lesser albums (Down on the Upside and Badmotorfinger) have some amazing songs on them, and are overall quite consistent.

Hell, their first two albums have a couple gems.

Oh, and Chris Cornell is incredible.

For the hell of it: Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Nirvana (Just did the "Seattle Four")

Yep I easily prefered this to Badmotorfinger, it just sounded more complete than BMF. Infact it is probably my favourite too, though I do enjoy Louder Than Love.

Soundgarden has one of the more defined grunge styles of their era, when compared to other popular banRAB of the same decade, (in my opinion).
I like the musical arrangement of Soundgardens rythm section towarRAB their music.
This single is from their 1996 album Down On The Upside, Burden In My Hand topped the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart five weeks in a row.

Yeah I didn't really get that comment. The only think techinical about Nirvana was the drumming, and the with PJ, maybe the lead guitar.

As far as the overall pitch, neither band is the picture of technicality.
