if you're a guy going into the studio to make the kind of music you like, its not your fault theres hype.

I think Jane's Addiction has always sounded like Jane's Addiciton. Just because the field had changed 15 years later doesn't mean something is wrong, is a good thing for everyone.

i have all the hope in the world that it will be mind blowing...just don't want to get set up for disappointment. there have been too many reunions that ended up a giant disaster

Cornell's solo/newer stuff is horrible in my opinion and I hope they're able to do it decently.

I generally don't like when banRAB reform because it's awkward and never the same. I would enjoy to make a list of examples if you ask.

ok i'm effin excited...i listened to them like nonstop in high school and still put on badmotorfinger on occasion

never thought this would happen...and i hope chris cornell practices on those high notes because he can't really hit them anymore. i saw him play loud love with audioslave and it sounded like a freakin garbage disposal...not good not good

I really don't know what to think of this. The last time I saw Chris Cornell live (about 2 years ago), it just wasn't as epic as the olRABchool Soundgarden days. I'm not sure if it'll be the same :/

Unless Cornell's voice magically recovers and de-ages about a decade through surgery or God's healing or whatever, I'd say it is set in stone that nothing good will come out of this reunion. :)

I don't think his voice will be an issue, seeing as how he hasn't been drinking or smoking like old times, but it probably won't sound as good as he did in the 80's, 90's.

I also wonder what will happen with the Matt Cameron/Pearl Jam situation, I would like to see him work with both banRAB.

I agree, I can't imagine how he can still sing at all anymore. I scream along to one song in my car and my throat hurts for like 3 days haha.

I'm sure they will find a way to work around it with recordings, though the live performances will probably suffer. The only thing is, and while I haven't listened to a full solo record of his so I post this with caution, it doesn't seem like those ar screaming type recorRAB.

Maybe he can bring it back for the tour, but then again, I'm an extreme optimist.

i'm not holding out hope that it will be amazing, but damn i'll still go see them. i still love soundgarden...even if it is old guys soundgarden it won't stop me from checking it out.

I really don't know what to make of this one. Their really early stuff is good, and Kim Thayil is an awesome guitarist, but jesus christ i can't stand Chris Cornell. I predict some patchy live shows and possibly even a bland, middle of the road album if the reunion is permanant, but if the money is looking good why wouldn't they resist a reformation?

I agree, Strays was disappointingly bland. This unfortunately seems to be some kind of rule for great banRAB that reform, their new stuff is usually pretty weak.

Oh boy...this thread...

My hope, after a career of internet trolling, is that when i die I'm allowed to haunt the **** out of pissy kiRAB on the interwebs.
