Sound - V&H Dresser Duals vs. Stock Head Pipe

Looking for some "sound" advice...LOL

I have Stage 1 with V&H Basic slip-ons attached to the stock 2009 header pipe. Can anyone comment on the sound difference they saw moving from the stock pipe to V&H Dresser Duals WITH an after-market slip-on (meaning sound of stock head pipe + aftermarket slip-on compared to V&H DD + aftermarket slip-on?

I have looked at the V&H Big Shots, but aside from changing baffles, you're pretty much stuck with these once they are mounted (plus they are more $ than V&H DD).

Basically, I'm looking for a bit more sound volume.

I MAY get new cams next year for my scoot, so if anyone wants to chime in on how this may affect things as well, please offer up your thoughts.

On my EG Ultra I had Samson slipons with stock headers and it was just about right as far as sound. When I upgraded to V&H dresser duals and a 211 cam, it was much too loud. It made a big difference! I then put Monster Ovals on and the sound level was just right for me again!
 
Can you guess who the culprit was - cams or duals?

Man, I guess I really need some input from someone who added the dresser duals THEN added cams...the suspense is killing me!
 
I think it was mostly the dresser duals from what I've been told. But they also said the cam will increase the sound a little.
 
I went from stock headers with V&H Ovals to V&H True Duals and Ovals with just cams at first and it was louder, but I liked the sound. Later I went to the 95" and it was louder again, but I love the sound. I'm sure some will think it too loud and others not loud enough. Pretty tough explaining sound, you really need to find this setup and listen to it.
 
I switched from stock headers to Dresser Duals with the same slip-ons (CFR) and the difference was very significant but still bearable. I can still hear the radio distinctly at 3,000 rpm in 6th gear (>80mph) but anything above 3,000 rpm and they bark. It's a very nice/deep bark though.
Cams will slightly increase loudness but more importantly, they'll modify the sound, bringing it even deeper, especially cams with the most lope.

I know these are the Big Shots + BCT baffles + cams, but this REALLY sounds awesome!

How does this compare to what you all are hearing with the DD + cams?
 
For whats it's worth , I did it the other way around..first cams then the Dresser Duals and the DD:s made it more loud with the cams than the cams did with the stock headpipe but the funny thing is that it seems that a stock headpipe almost kills that nice loop at idle with the woods cams..after the change the"loop" was much more noticeable
