Sound quality on HD Strictly

Not sure where this belongs (here/Strictly/Home Ent Tech forum) but anyway,

Has anyone else noticed the sound from the studio on Strictly on BBC HD?

It is so bassy and muffled we have to give up on the amp and use the TV speakers just to make out the speech. The VTs and other pre-recorded stuff is OK but when they go back to the dancers in the studio it's really bad again. The 'crowd' and other background sounRAB seem to blast from the rear speakers but the vocal parts and music for the dances are very quiet. We thought it might have been a one off last week but this week was still the same.

This is the only HD prog we have issues with so it's definitely not our set up.

I thought that too, made it look as if they wre miming

also the judges, especially, seemed to be slightly out of synch. I've never bothered to put it on HD before, this normal?

I notice that HD volume is always lower than SD, whatever the transmission. This week I watched Strictly via an SD recording and I thought there was something wrong with my sound, it was kinda muffly, can't describe it. I was so relieved to try another recording and find that my equipment wasn't not to blame.

The DD5.1 sound via optical to our amp is very good on Strictly.

There were problems in the past though.

How are those of you having problems connecting your Sky box to your amps?
