Sore Throat part of it?

About 10 days ago I got a real sore throat and was sneezing and coughing and had a temperature. I get sinus infections easily so my doctor had written refills for pencillin. I started taking which was a good idea because the infection got worse and went into my lungs. The sore throat went away and just had alot of congestion for the past week or so but it's sort of still in my lungs.

Last night I started getting this burning feeling again which I can't tell if it's from this sinus/respiratory infection or acid reflex. Is getting sore throats/hot burning part of it?

I've been off PPI's for 2 years and did take some pain medication lately so could this be the cause for the sore throat/hot burning? It's what started my problems in the beginning. I took one Protonix thinking it was stomach problems but didn't notice it helping or not.

Anyone know why the sore throat/burning went away with rest, liquiRAB and pencillin? I'm trying to figure out what I am having symptoms of. Only had this burning at the very beginning of my stomach problems and once off the pain medication it went away quickly probably with 5 days of protonix.

I know this is sort of choppy but any light anyone can shed on my situation would be helpful.

I know it's frustrating when the symptoms vary so from person to person and then one thing can lead to another. I also get sinus infections a lot but rarely ever have a sore throat anymore as I did way back in the beginning. It sounRAB like you may have had a cold or upper resp infection that could very well set off the GERD/LPR. Maybe you should continue on your PPI as well as other medications for infection? Doesn't hurt to treat both at the same time if it will get you well! Good Luck.

Thank you for responding. I do still have a respiratory infection. I took another Protonix last night and today the burning is mostly gone, just my stomach is upset. I plan to stay on it for awhile as I'm leaving town for a few weeks. The respiratory part of the sore throat hurts today and unfortunately the antibiotic seems to make the stomach issues worse but I can't stop taking it or I'll have Pnenomia.
