Got it on the 2nd listened to all of it and so far I have to say I am slightly disapointed. The songs that are on there are great, but there arent enough of em. I might be missing the point of the album so i will listen to it a few more times before i make any final judgements, but so far I feel it is just 3 or 4 songs with a bunch of filler in between.

anyone else?
 
not their greatest cd, but some really good songs on it... i got stoned for the first time in like 6 months and listened to it all the way through... it was about 11tybillion times better
 
having listened to it more, I am liking it more, and putting more into an actual tool album catagory (in my mind) SounRAB like a strange cross breed of Lateralus and
 
excellent album from start to finish..yes in some spots its a little lighter than the norm,but hey it is their "blues" album.Obvious pain infused thoughout.
Lost Keys into Rosetta Stoned is a mindfuck, period.

I cry at night because I can't buy this album where I live. I could download it, but that would destroy the greatness that I have built up in my head.
 
It's most definately above par as an album. However, I don't know if it's above par as a Tool album. I like it, and have been listening to it... But I think it could have been better.
 
I really enjoyed 10,000 Days. But not after the first listen. I was a little perplexed at first, because if you just skip thru the tracks, it almost comes off as a little 'half-assed.' But if you really dig into the content, and listen to it from beginning to end 3 or 4 times, it really starts to emerge as the fantastic album it is.

Wings Part I and II are simply phenomenal when listened to in sequence, as is Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned. Plus, one of the greatest Tool songs is on this album, in the form of "Right In Two." Whereas Lateralus could be immediately appreciated, 10,000 Days is more of an acquired taste, and takes time to bloom.

I like it. Danny's drumming is amazing, and I like how the band is exploring different song structures. More and more I see the Pink Floyd influence coming out in Tool, as well as the more experimental side of Led Zeppelin, and also Meshuggah who they toured with a few years ago. It's a great mix and although it doesn't have the catchi-ness that earlier albums have, it's challenging and ultimately more forfilling because it makes you work to get to that place of understanding with the music.

I don't know if that makes any sense, but it's kinda like how it took me a while to appreciate Skinny Puppy's music- in the end it was worth it. That's more of an extreme example because SP is way more out there than Tool which is very accessable...
 
I'm really liking The Pot and Rosetta Stoned. Vicarious is alright, the others I still haven't listened to much to actually know whether or not I like them.
 
Never been much of a Tool fan so I can't really compare it to their previous efforts except for the singles that everyone's heard, but I downloaded 10,000 from a roommate a week ago and three listens in I'm digging the shit out of it. And yeah it def seems like an album that one would need to listen to straight through for it to really sink in. Now I just gotta dig up the back catalogue...
 
The Pot is already getting regular airtime in Vancouver! The evening of when the CD was released, they (CFOX.com) played the enitre album through.
 
im enjoying it... its got such a wide variety from hard rocking to the absolute mindfuck of Rosetta Stoned. not one of my favourites of Tool as a complete package, but 10000 has some of my favourite Tool songs.
