I am going to be a freshman in college this upcoming fall and I literally just figured out that I want to major in communications (ie journalism, broadcasting, photojournalism, marketing, etc.).
Being a communications major, I was wondering what laptop I should get.
I'm really leaning towards the MacBook Pro 13" (I'm going to use the educations discount to get $100 off and a $100 rebate for a printer), but I'm not 100% sure.
I've been a PC user all my life, but the whole "boot camp" thing where I can get Windows AND OS X, virtually no viruses (I know this is a long shot, but studies show that Macs DO get less viruses), money off AND a free printer are really starting to bring me towards Mac.
Also, keep in mind that I have been looking at a Dell and it is about the same price as the MacBook Pro, so money is not a part of this.
I would just like to know if you believe that a Mac would be a good decision for a communications major or if a PC may be better,
Please and thank you!
