Sony w810 or w900?

[I'm sure someone's asked this before, but I can't search the forums for some reason]

I live in New York City, and am totally torn on which of the above two phones to get. People on the forums have pretty much talked up both of these phones immensely, but I would like to gather opinions (especially from those who have seen both in action) on which phone is worth the money more?

For the most part, you can ignore cost (living near Chinatown and Flushing = amazing for phone-getting goodness), but I've got a couple of concerns.

(a) I've been using my pathetic little LG VX6000 for 3+ years now, so I had no idea what GSM even was until relatively recently. After doing a lot of research, all I've noticed was there are a number of different opinions in terms of service. What I mean is, the 810 has the 850mhz GSM range, while the 900 does not. Does that necessarily mean I'll have more dropped calls with the 900 living in the city, even if I choose T-Mobile over Cingular for service? I would hate to pay 500 bucks for a phone just to find out it doesn't work right.

(b) Has anyone had any problems with the 900's jack-knife opening thingy? It really does seem like it would snap and launch the screen off one day, but I've never actually seen one in action in person before.

On that note, if anyone has any reasons why I should choose one over the other, drop a message. Note that, after looking up prices for the last hour or so now, I've become shocked to note that they're going for almost the same price in a lotta places online now as well. Any info you guys can give would be most appreciated. Thanks guys.

Choose Tmobile so you dont have to worry about 850Mhz. And about the phone, its up to you, the w810i is considerably alot smaller in size then the w900i. Either should have no problem with Tmobile as it only uses Americas 1900Mhz Network Band. (Not 850Mhz which Cingular uses and if you should Cingular then your going to have to get a 850Mhz Phone for you to get good coverage) And trust me after your done with a 850Mhz phone, you will have a somewhat hard time finding another since there not much good 850 support phones around. So go with Tmobile and take which ever pick you want. If I had Tmobile I personally will go for the w900i. Hope you make the right choice on this.

I live in Chicago and travel some so I am going with the w810i. I am on cingular and having 850mhz will be of benifit for me. I hope to get this phone in the next couple of weeks. It seems the people who have this phone are very pleased with reception and function of this phone so I am going to take the plunge. good luck!
