Sony Vegas pro 9.0c question??!?!?!?!?

I want to move a clip to a certain location but not put it right next to the other clip, when I move the clip close to the other one, it like moves it over and puts itself next to it automatically, is there any way to move this clip without having it automatically put itself next to the other, any help would be greatly appreciated, if you don't understand the question please say so and I will try to elaborate on it.
