Sony vaio windows not booting or being read ubuntu?

I have a sony im fixing windows 7 home. it will go to boot logo then hang, then to start up repair which doesnt work. Also my desktop want boot with this drive in secondary, and turned off in bois. ive never seen anything like it. and using back track it says drive cannot be mounted. any ideas. also ive tried to reinstall windows with no luck. hangs at setup is starting
