Sony Ericsson w810i unlocked or not

Buy it unlocked/unbranded. Sure, you can try to get it yourself, but if you fudge it up, you have a nice paper weight.

Pros: Flash menus, no branding, no messing with Cingular crap like Cingular Mall

Cons: You have to manually enter the MMS/SMS/Media Net settings (easy, it is on the Cingular/AT&T site), Cingular/AT&T will not be able to exchange the phone if it breaks.

Which slider? and from an Mp3 player point of view its pretty damn good, I had it on my till a month ago when I upgraded to HTC but W810 is a neat little phone with a pretty descent camera as well.

If you mean the Samsung D807, the slider offered at the Cingular stores, then yes, it is a far better phone. I purchased that D807, and returned it within a month to get the W810i. I bought a black one, then my wife started using it, and she loved it, and sold her Motorola RIZR, and I had to get another W810i, so I bought an unbranded one.
