Sony Ericsson W705 with At&T?

Hi,

i bought a unlocked w705 from Sony and put in an at&t 3G SIM card. However, the phone automatically will not be 3G. I cannot seem to find an option to activate 3G. Can you please tell me how I can do this?

PS: 3G coverage is in the area, so thats not the problem :)
 
The phone supports 3G and EDGE Class 10, 236.8 kbps. A 3G indicator will appear in the upper part of the screen automatically if working properly.

If it does not, it may be a software problem (this is a known problem), Take it to a AT&T retail store and have them re-download the software for the phone. This should correct your problem.

i used to have a sony ericsson w580i with at&t but the phone didn't have 3G capabilities. it wasn't that the coverage was bad, it was that the phone just didn't have the 3G chip or antenna or whatever it uses to access it so you're not able to use 3G on it no matter what. i would check the specs to make sure the phone can access 3G because it might not have the antenna required to receive the 3G signals.
