Sony Ericsson w580i will not send or receive calls, help please!

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this!

After waking up today I turned on my Sony Ericsson w580i only to find that it was no longer functioning. When I try to make a call it beeps twice and ends the call. Similarly when someone else is calling me it does not display an incoming call. When this happens the caller is simply forwarded to my voicemail.

After much frustration I turned off the phone and removed the SIM card in a futile hope of somehow working my voodoo magic to make it work once again. I then placed the SIM card back into the phone and turned it back on. This effort only bore diseased fruit however; the phone would be able to make and receive calls yet again but only for a short amount of time. After only about 5 minutes it would yet again fail to make calls and was rendered useless.

Please if you have any information or help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time! =)
 
I am having the same exact problem with the w580i and w810i. I can call out tho but incoming doesnt work. I removed the battery and sim, put it back in, and the first call can get through, but if i answer the call then the calls stop coming in. All i get when i call my phone is "this number is unavailable."

I tried my sim in black berry and iphone and it works but cant work on other SE. Please help!!!
 
I would try getting a new SIM card. Just because it works in another phone doesn't mean much. Blackberry's have a much tighter SIM clip to hold it in place. The w580i uses a spring latch. Any scratches on it may make it unusable.

Your Cell provider should provide a replacement SIM card.
