I don't think that this actually has anything to do with the Sonic franchise; it's just another hedgehog. It's just that nowadays, when someone hears 'hedgehog' they immediately think Sonic.

Sonic Unleashed was NOT terrible by any means. I was just generally referring to his last couple of years of not so great games. Especially Sonic Genesis and Sonic the Hedgehog 2006.

I think the OP might have been legitimately concerned that the demand for news of "Alfred Hedgehog" would be less than enthusiastic if it wasn't tied into a video game joke.

A hedgehog is a fairly distinct and specific type of animal, and Sonic is pretty much the only real cartoon hedgehog star around. And unless this show takes off in a major way, Sonic will still have that distinction. .
