So Sonic Youth albums have gotten good reviews pretty consistently, except I noticed that when it was released in 2000, NYC Ghosts & Flowers was given 0.0/10 by a Pitchfork reviewer.
I know Pitchfork often exaggerate things and are definitely not always the most reliable source for reviews, but surely there must be some grounds to give it such a low rating? Is it their worst album? It seemed to get a pretty good reception elsewhere.
I haven't heard the album, as I only recently started listening to SY and don't have enough money at the moment to get all their albums. But I find it hard to believe they made an album so bad it doesn't deserve a single point... so why did the reviewer do that?
