Songs Keep skipping on windows media player?

Hi There,

Well I got this new laptop a little over a week ago and I have noticed in the last few days that all the songs in my windows media player have started to skip.

All the songs in the media player usually skip near to the end of the song for a second or two. The songs all skip near the same point in every song no matter the artist or song length which is weird!

It doesn't matter if I have burned them from a CD or downloaded them from Limewire. It's really frustrating as I was gearing my Laptop up to play all my music at parties and it will just suck if it skips all the time!

The only thing I can think that might have stuffed things up is that I downloaded and installed a vlc media player but I have since uninstalled it.

So yea hopefully someone can help me out! It would be deeply appreciated!!

[1ST Option] ReGARDLESS of whether you downloaded the "songs" from Limewire or burnt them (ripped them) from a CD..this "problem"" is usually related to the song itself. The ACTUAL 'Bit" type of the song is "corrupted"
This corruption can occur from songs copied from a dirty/scratched cd or dvd disk, or even the actual cd or dvd burner itself. (the laser beam of the cd/dvd is causing a read/copy problem ">>>>intermittently"
The 'bit" rate is the RATE the song plays at..and this BIT rate when
downloaded or burned (whatever) was corrupted BY the SOURCE of the songs, whether that be an Internet Program/CD/DVD copy etc.
You say "all the songs" ,does this mean all the songs came from "one" or more, source. Limewire is notorious for poor quality songs, even those songs that may be the same as available from any OTHER Source.{limewire wont like me here!!} Limewire also downloads ADware/Viruses..once again they wont like me..OF COURSE, the ONUS is on YOU to ensure you have a Good AntiVirus installed and Updated. {Note: that some viruses CAN cause a "problem" either at the beginning of a song or at the end of the song, usually NOT in between} ..LOT of Information here..Hope you understand it all. ??
2ND OPTION: delete your Windows Media Player..and go to Microsoft Internet site and download a MediaPlayer from there..version 10 or 11...with version 11, your Windows version MUST be Genuine.
Download also..a Windows MediaPlayer Encoder, to boost the actual Windows MediaPlayer.
Have experienced this "problem" before several times and solved it by downloading ALL songs again (after deleting the old ones)
and Updating my MediaPlayer which at the time was version9.
[OR TEST,DO THIS, if you have time..] delete all media files..including the Mediaplayer..download and reinstall Windows ,mediaplayer (same version you had/have)
reinstall to HD the SAME songs from the SAME Source or Sources.
IF the 'problem' of skipping still occurs again..its the songs themselves.(or their Sources)
Dont dismiss the 1st Option, however, the 2nd Option is more likely the cause of your "problem". AND >> the Answer.
