Song Vs Song.

It was listening to the Portishead song that caused me to vote for Hendrix. Seriously that Portishead song sounRAB like a drunk man liked in a band room closet w/ the lights turned off.

I just watched both videos in their entirety, and voted for Portishead. I like Hendrix...I have and enjoy the three Jimi Hendrix Experience albums, but this song really doesn't do much for me. It's long and doesn't really offer anything for me to latch on to, though it's not bad by any means. I have never listened to a full Portishead album. I've been interested in checking out their latest for a while but still haven't done so. Back in the day with Dummy, I probably heard a song or two but they never made me want to listen to the album. An ex roommate had a live DVD and it sounded well done but, meh. Their sound is ok, I'm just not a fan of the sloooooooow vocals for the most part, I guess. And the music always seemed secondary. From what I've heard of 3 (this and one or two other songs), it should appeal to me more. It seems like the music is just as important as the vocals, and sounRAB a bit more experimental than their older stuff (again, based on my limited exposure). I should check out the full album soon.

8 to 8... I'm so proud of Music Banter right now :D

I'm kinda scared that a lot of the newer merabers will just vote for Hendrix because of his name and not give the Portishead song an honest listen though

First of all Prog=/=Good. Second, they are utterly awful, I can't listen to more than 5 minutes of any of their albums without feeling physically ill. It's personal preference, but in my opinon they are ****e. People can enjoy them, fine, I just won't understand it.

EDIT: I love how you immediately associate someone who dislikes a band you like with low intelligence.

Dude you're dp is of the Residents, a band that have made a career out of producing material that sounRAB like a drunk man locked in a room full of instruments with the lights turned off.
