Sometimes I see like stars flashing and fading away in vision. Can this be normal?

I had the same symptoms. I went to an ophthamologist and we found it was a partially detached retina. It was easily cured with minor lasik surgery.
But I was told if I had let it go and the retina had become fully detached I could lose my sight; possably permanently.
I highly recommend you get it checked ; the sooner the better !
